She will appear in the next Honkai: Star Rail event banner featuring another top-tier unit, Dr. Ratio, who will be free to claim for a limited time.
Honkai: Star Rail features a banner system that works similarly to Genshin Impact's Wanderlust Invocation, allowing players to get brand-new characters and Light Cones by spending Stellar Jades. Though this permanent banner raises the chance of pulling a five-star unit or weapon gradually, Trailblazers may sometimes be left empty-handed. There are also a pair of warp events, during which the drop chance of some top-tier units is boosted. When Ruan Mei makes her introduction in Honkai: Star Rail later this month, she will remain available on that kind of banner until the next version.

Honkai: Star Rail has revealed all the details about Ruan Mei's kit, giving players an idea of the character's defensive skills. Ruan Mei is described as a support unit that can increase allies' speed and resistance. She regenerates energy at the start of each turn and deals a certain amount of Ice damage to single targets using her signature weapon. As for Ruan Mei's technique, it triggers her "String Sings Slow Swirls" skill at the beginning of the combat without spending points.

This is a kind of combat effect that delays enemy actions and deals a certain amount of break damage. Judging by her kit, Ruan Mei will likely be one of the top-tier support units in Honkai: Star Rail.
Apart from new characters, several rerun banners are lined up for Honkai: Star Rail's version 1.6, including the Nihility-based Kafka who specializes in the Nihility combat type. These banners will likely be sought-after, given that only a pair of units, Seele and Silver Wolf, have received their reruns since the game's initial launch. According to leaks, the second half of version 1.6 will also bring Sushang and Hook to the event warp for Trailblazers who still don't own them.
