A new Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed more details about a new form for the popular four-star character Tingyun. Similar to most other gacha games, Honkai: Star Rail characters are divided into two rarity groups: five-star and four-star playable units.
Honkai: Star Rail features a turn-based combat system that allows players to include up to four different characters in their team composition. While HoYoverse usually doesn't directly rework their characters, some of their four-star units have received new forms.
So far, the game has released two new character forms for popular four-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail, Dan Heng and March 7th. Both of these characters have been part of the game since its release. According to a credible leaker named Seele, another well-known four-star unit, Tingyun, will also receive a new form. The leak revealed that Tingyun's new form will make her unleash nine tails upon activating her Skill. Regarding her combat type, she will be a Fire user. She is expected to follow the Path of Nihility, which is usually reserved for characters that apply debuffs to opponents to reduce their stats.
Honkai: Star Rail - Sunday and Tingyun's New Form Release Date
The leak did not reveal anything about the rarity of Tingyun's new form. While many fans expect her to receive a similar overhaul to Honkai: Star Rail's March 7th, others hope that Tingyun's new version will come as a completely new five-star unit, much more powerful than her original form. This would not be surprising, as the five-star DPS unit Imbibitor Lunae is considered the awakened version of Dan Heng.
There is still no official information about her release date, but multiple rumors suggest that Tingyun's new form will be featured in update 2.7. Based on Honkai: Star Rail's usual update schedule, players can expect update 2.7 to drop in December 2024. Previous leaks have revealed that the same update will feature the long-awaited Honkai: Star Rail character Sunday, who has already made multiple appearances in the game's main storyline, which revealed that he's Robin's older brother.
While he was previously rumored to be a Harmony user, recent leaks have suggested that this might no longer be the case. Credible leakers have also indicated that Sunday follows the Path of Harmony, which could mean that he has powerful supportive abilities. Recent Honkai: Star Rail rumors also claim that Sunday's appearance will be much different from his current in-game version, as he will be wearing much darker attire compared to his usual white uniform.
