Star Rail currently features seven different elemental "Types" among its playable cast, alongside seven unique Paths serving as classes. Now, leaks are potentially hinting at the addition of the game's eighth character Path.
Paths serve an important purpose in defining each character's playstyle within Honkai: Star Rail's roster, typically associated with a character's kit. Star Rail's Paths can offer a wide range of ability schemes for players, with Paths like The Hunt and Destruction often lending themselves to offensive characters while Abundance and Harmony fill support roles. HoYoverse has also teased several more in-game Paths through the lore and the Simulated Universe, including Remembrance, Elation, and Voracity among others. A new leak is suggesting one Honkai: Star Rail Path will finally become playable soon.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases New In-Game Path
A new leak from prominent Honkai: Star Rail leaker Sakura Haven is hinting at the addition of a new character Path to Honkai: Star Rail. According to the leak, Star Rail is planning to introduce the first characters in the game's Remembrance Path in the near future. No confirmation was given with the post about who the first Remembrance character would be, with a release date also not given for the in-game Path. Remembrance is currently only available in-game as a Path within the Simulated Universe.
While few details were given about the addition of Remembrance to Honkai: Star Rail, the Path's position in Simulated Universe could give key clues about its implementation. The Simulated Universe's Remembrance Path heavily focuses around the Freeze status effect, providing damage bonuses and other buffs when Freezing enemies. The Path also makes heavy use of the "Dissociation" mechanic, prolonging the effects of Freeze and also dealing additional Ice Damage. Much like Remembrance, Dissociation is currently not used in Honkai: Star Rail outside the Simulated Universe.
A new Path coming to Star Rail would serve as the first new class introduced to the game since its launch in early 2023. The game has previously included non-playable Paths as a major part of Honkai: Star Rail's story, with the "Masked Fools" organization featuring Sparkle and Sampo serving as followers of the Elation Aeon, Aha. HoYoverse has also previously made major gameplay additions following its games' releases, adding the Dendro element to Genshin Impact with Version 3.0. The addition of Remembrance to Honkai: Star Rail would look to majorly shake up the RPG with plenty of new options for teams.
