Fugue may seem like a weird name for the 5-star Tingyun in Honkai: Star Rail, given no one ever calls her that, not even herself in the Trailblaze Mission. However, a quick search will reveal that the word "fugue" actually means something like losing one's identity, which fits perfectly, given that the Foxian lady had her identity as Tingyun stolen by Phantylia in Honkai: Star Rail.
Although it has long been teased that Tingyun isn't dead, many have been waiting for her return, wondering how she survived the cruel corruption of the Destruction. Of course, as the game explains how she was able to recover from the possession, the Foxian lady also becomes a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail. If you're waiting to get the 5-star Tingyun, here's when you can expect Tingyun's release date in HSR.

Fugue release date in HSR is December 25, 2024 (local server time). The 2.7 banner will end in three weeks on January 14, 2025, after which the version will end and be followed by the brand new Honkai: Star Rail 3.0. Fugue's banner succeeds Sunday's debut, and she'll be featured alongside Firefly, who'll have her first rerun banner.
Fugue is a Fire-Nihility character with supportive debuffing abilities. She allows allied characters to unconditionally reduce the enemy's Toughness and even applies a phantom "exo-Toughness" that allows repeated triggers of Break and Super Break DMG.
With her Skill, Fugue increases an ally's Break Effect and allows them to reduce the enemy's Toughness regardless of their weakness, although it's only 50% of the original reduction value. Afterward, Fugue gains an enhanced Basic Attack that can reduce the enemy's DEF, opening the way for boosted DPS for the entire team.
The unique part of Fugue's ability lies in her Talent, where she applies Cloudflame Luster. This effect applies a phantom Toughness worth 40% of the enemy's original Toughness, which can be chipped down after the original Toughness is depleted. When Cloudflame Luster is reduced to 0, the enemy will receive Weakness Break DMG all over again. This means Break DPS in Honkai: Star Rail can deal damage faster than before.
Since Fugue is a debuffer for Break DPS, it's no surprise that her banner is accompanied by Firefly, who's one of the best Break DPS in Honkai: Star Rail. Firefly is a unit that focuses on dealing Super Break DMG, especially with the assistance of Harmony Trailblazer.
The Stellaron Hunter works best with teammates such as Ruan Mei, Harmony MC, and Lingsha. Soon, Fugue enters the list of suitable Firefly teammates in HSR along with units like Gallagher and Hunt March 7th.
