Honkai: Star Rail has their first rerun in version 1.4, which comes as quite a shock because it can be considered quite early since its initial release. This recurring banner features the first-ever limited 5-star unit, Seele. Alongside Seele's rerun banner is another Hunt character, an IPC worker called Topaz, and her companion Trotter, Numby,
Since both units follow the Path of Hunt, players can expect them to have a somewhat similar role, which can make it tough to decide between Seele or Topaz in Honkai: Star Rail.
Honkai: Star Rail – Guinaifen Team Composition Guide
Guinaifen is a Burn DoT character in Honkai: Star Rail, so her team should play around with the debuff in one way or another.
Seele Or Topaz In Honkai: Star Rail
Since both are Hunt units, it would be understandable to get confused over which banner to pull on. On one hand, Seele is a Quantum character that likes to attack repeatedly while Topaz & Numby like to keep attacking the same target through their follow-up attack mechanics.
Here’s what people can consider when contemplating whether they should pull for Seele or Topaz in Honkai: Star Rail.
Role
As Hunt characters in Honkai: Star Rail, both Topaz and Seele naturally excel in single-target damage dealing. However, it’s worth noting that:
- Seele is amazing in the Forgotten Hall, while Topaz isn’t as effective alone
- Seele plays around with SPD, Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, and her extra turn; Topaz plays with follow-up attack and Numby’s hits
- Seele is strong but quite plain in the Simulated Universe while Topaz can be an insane enabler to the Elation Path buffs
Equipment
When it comes to equipment, Seele’s best Relic is the Genius of Brilliant Stars, and she fits well with most Hunt Light Cones. Meanwhile, Topaz has more Relic options since Firesmith of Lava-Forging can be outperformed by other sets like Champion of Streetwise Boxing or 2-Firesmith of Lava-Forging + 2-Musketeer of Wild Wheat, while her Light Cones are more limited as there aren’t many follow-up attack DMG bonus. This means she must settle with universal DMG, ATK, or Crit buff.
However, if players get Topaz’s signature Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail, Worrisome, Blissful, it can be better than Seele’s In the Night as In The Night is only beneficial for the wielder, while Topaz’s weapon is a great buff for the entire team.
Team
In terms of teams, Seele is far more flexible than Topaz. Topaz requires a specific team, preferably including Tingyun (or other Energy-granting units) and at least one other follow-up attacker. Meanwhile, Seele works great as the sole DPS and players can even make her strike massive numbers by bringing two buffers into the team.
Seele VS Topaz In Honkai: Star Rail
In conclusion, players should pull for Seele if:
- They need a Quantum DPS
- Want a fast unit that can annihilate small enemies
- Need someone who’s powerful in both Simulated Universe and Forgotten Hall
Meanwhile, Trailblazers are better off with Topaz if:
- They need a Fire DPS
- Have a lot of follow-up attackers
- Want an Elation Simulated Universe character
