Erudition characters tend to shine the most in situations where players need to fight a lot of things at once. Rappa continues this trend in Honkai: Star Rail by offering a solid balance between AoE and single target damage. She won't be able to handle things on her own, though, and players will want to get all the right characters working with her.
There's a bit of nuance in Rappa's kit that players need to work around. Luckily, there are enough characters in the HSR cast who can fill in for her weaknesses while boosting her strengths. Here's the best team for Rappa in the game so far, as well as some decent alternative picks for players with incomplete rosters.

Best Rappa Teams in HSR
Rappa is an Erudition character who, like many of the other characters following this Path, excels against groups of enemies. However, she focuses on Break DMG, so conventional teams that rely on raw ATK and Crit buffs won't work on her. As such, you can expect Rappa to work with many Firefly team comps in HSR. The best team for Rappa consists of her plus the following characters:

Ruan Mei Synergy
Ruan Mei is pretty much the best support unit you can use for any Break team, and that goes double for Rappa. She can help the team break Toughness Bars more quickly, which translates to more Charges for Rappa. Ruan Mei also buffs the team's damage output via ATK and All-Type RES PEN buffs.
For those who don't know, Rappa's Talent lets her earn a Charge every time an opponent is Weakness Broken (up to 10 Charges max). When she launches her third Enhanced Basic Attack when her Ultimate is active, a Charge is consumed, dealing up to 60% of Rappa's Break DMG to all enemies. This ignores Weakness Types, which means she can break the Toughness Bars of enemies who aren't weak to Imaginary DMG.
Harmony Trailblazer and Lingsha
These two are here to amplify Rappa's damage even further. Lingsha can inflict a ton of AoE Fire damage with her attacks and Fuyuan, and she can increase the Break DMG targets take with her Ultimate. Meanwhile, Harmony Trailblazer lets the team deal Super Break DMG, greatly increasing the DPS output of everyone against Weakness Broken targets.
With all three support units combined, Rappa can deal tons of damage with her Ultimate, and if she's the one who ends up inflicting Weakness Break, she will additionally inflict Imaginary's Imprisonment effect, which delays enemy actions and reduces their SPD.
Alternative Characters
While everyone should be able to get and build Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail, the other characters might not be available to everybody else. Here are some 4-star characters that players can use as alternatives:
- Gallagher: Replaces Lingsha as the team healer, AoE Fire breaker, and Break DMG buffer. He can be built as a Break-oriented sub-DPS.
- Pela: Replaces Ruan Mei. She may not be able to improve Weakness Break Efficiency, but she can still amplify damage by shredding enemy DEF with her Ultimate.
- Asta: Replaces Ruan Mei. Offers handy ATK and SPD buffs while being capable of breaking multiple enemies at once.
