Jingliu has generated significant anticipation among Honkai: Star Rail players, thanks to her enigmatic introduction during the Trailblazer's journey. As a new playable character, she brings her unique flair as an Ice Destruction character, providing players with an alternative Ice DPS option alongside Yanqing. However, Jingliu's gameplay differs notably from Yanqing, as she boasts enhanced AoE capabilities compared to Yanqing's Hunt path having a single-target focus. Nevertheless, Jingliu is surprisingly also predominantly single-target oriented for a Destruction character due to her damage modifiers.

Destruction units in Honkai: Star Rail excels in both offense and defense.

This dynamic adds to her appeal as a character, providing players with a distinct playstyle and various strategic options within the game. Jingliu can even complement other Destruction characters, like Blade, by consuming the HP of other team members. Her diverse light cone options can be slightly influenced by team compositions, but her ATK-based damage scaling allows her to access a wide range of light cone choices from different rarity levels in Honkai: Star Rail.

Increases the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill DMG by 32%.

For players seeking a free-to-play (F2P) option, Collapsing Sky can serve as an excellent starting point, as Jingliu is capable of effectively utilizing this 3-star rarity weapon. This suitability arises from the fact that her primary DPS output is derived from her Skill, especially when she enters a special state that enhances her skill's capabilities.

On the contrary, her Basic ATK won't contribute significantly to obtaining stacks for this special state. Nevertheless, enhancing her Skill DMG alone is a worthwhile consideration, despite the lower rarity of this weapon option.

Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 20%. The wearer also deals an extra 20% of DMG to enemies with a higher HP percentage than the wearer.

A Secret Vow offers a flat DMG increase through its passive effect, which is further boosted when Jingliu's HP is lower than that of her enemies. While Jingliu may not fully capitalize on this secondary passive effect since she neither consumes her own HP nor directly benefits from it like Blade, there could still be situations where this aspect proves useful.

Ice characters in Honkai: Star Rail is best for their ability to freeze enemies, but the available characters also excel in both offense in defense.

Notably, as a Destruction character, Jingliu has a higher taunt rate compared to many other path users, potentially making the added DMG from A Secret Vow's passive effect relevant in certain scenarios.

When the wearer uses Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate to attack enemies, the wearer gains one stack of Mischievous. Each stack increases the wearer's ATK by 12%.

The Moles Welcome You is a straightforward choice for Jingliu's light cone, particularly if players aim to boost her ATK value, which she can greatly benefit from. To maximize the benefits of this weapon, Jingliu simply needs to ensure that she uses her Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate at least once to acquire all three stacks as early as possible.

However, it's important to mention that while The Moles Welcome You is a solid 4-star weapon option for Jingliu, most 5-star options will outperform it. This consideration becomes particularly relevant since some 5-star weapons can be obtained without relying on the Gacha system.

Whenever the wearer attacks, their ATK is increased by 16% in this battle. This effect can stack up to 4 times. When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer's DMG increases by 24% for 2 turns.

On the Fall of an Aeon is a completely free-to-play (F2P) option that players can obtain and max superimpose by utilizing the Herta Store. Fortunately, in addition to being F2P, it complements Jingliu quite effectively. This weapon not only offers a substantial ATK boost rather quickly, often surpassing the boost provided by The Moles Welcome You, especially when it's max superimposed and players don't have access to many copies of the 4-star rarity option, but it also enhances Jingliu's damage even further when she is the one breaking an enemy's weakness instead of another team member.

While this effect may be situational in some battles, players should generally be using Jingliu against enemies with Ice weaknesses, which will make this condition relatively straightforward to achieve

3 Something Irreplaceable

Increases the wearer's ATK by 24%. When the wearer defeats an enemy or is hit, immediately restores HP equal to 8% of the wearer's ATK. At the same time, the wearer's damage increases by 24% until the end of their next turn. This effect cannot stack and can only trigger 1 time per turn.

Clara's signature light cone, Something Irreplaceable, suits Jingliu quite well. It not only enhances her damage output but also provides a degree of healing, adding a defensive aspect to her gameplay. The conditions to activate the HP restoration and damage bonus are relatively easy to fulfill, especially when facing opponents who frequently deal AoE damage. Additionally, Jingliu's slightly higher likelihood of being targeted (assuming there are no preservation characters in the party) can contribute to triggering this effect more often.

To further ensure the effect is activated consistently, players can utilize characters like March 7th or Lynx, who can increase Jingliu's chances of being targeted each turn. This synergy makes Something Irreplaceable a valuable choice for players looking to maximize Jingliu's damage potential while incorporating some survivability into her play style.

2 The Unreachable Side

Increase the wearer's CRIT Rate and Max HP by 18%. After the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, increases the wearer's DMG by 24%. This effect is dispelled after the user uses an attack.

Unreachable Side may be designed for Blade, but it can still prove effective on Jingliu, despite her not benefiting significantly from HP increase. Jingliu possesses a substantial Crit Damage boost from her skill tree traces or eidolons, and she also gains additional Crit Rate during her enhanced state. Combining this with the Crit Rate provided by The Unreachable Side allows players to focus on other stats, such as maximizing Crit DMG or enhancing her speed and ATK through her relics. This synergy ensures that Jingliu can consistently land critical hits while aiming for maximum damage.

From single-target, AoE, pure damage, to DoT, there are multiple types of DPS in Honkai: Star Rail and some are stronger than others.

Regarding the second effect of the passive, although Jingliu cannot consume her own HP, she can still derive benefits from the DMG increase in ways similar to achieving it for Something Irreplaceable. However, if players are primarily focused on further increasing Crit Rate, technically, Imbibitor Lunae's signature light cone, Brighter Than the Sun, can also be considered. Nonetheless, the secondary effect of this weapon may not be as attainable for Jingliu, as she won't frequently use her Basic Attacks to fully benefit from it.

1 I Shall Be My Own Sword

Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 20%. When ally gets attacked or loses HP, wearer gains 1 stack of Eclipse, up to a max of 3 stack(s). Each stack of Eclipse will increase the DMG of the wearer’s next attack by 14%. When 3 stack(s) are maxed out, an additional attack will be delivered that ignores 12% of the enemy’s DEF. This effect will be dispelled after the wearer delivers their attack.

I Shall Be My Own Sword is explicitly crafted as Jingliu's signature light cone, and unsurprisingly, it stands as the optimal choice for her. Not only can she profit from the additional Crit DMG, but the other effects are also readily attainable for her, as she can consume an ally's HP or allies can be conveniently attacked or lose HP, against enemies that focus on AoE. To make it even players can also pair a character like Fu Xuan very well to obtain stacks easily.

As a result, this light cone is genuinely worthwhile for players who don't mind investing additional resources in light cone banners. Its effects hold substantial value not only for Jingliu but also for other existing Destruction characters, and achieving these effects is relatively straightforward, making it a valuable addition to any arsenal.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available on Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation version is in development.
