Jiaoqiu is a Nihility character in Honkai: Star Rail who can fit versatilely into many team compositions due to his ability to assist allies with debuffs and his synergy with DoT teams through his unique stacking debuff called Ashen Roast. In this sense, he is quite similar to Pela as a debuffer but also shares some traits with Black Swan due to his stacking debuff/DoT abilities. Additionally, Jiaoqiu is a surprisingly good ally for characters like Argenti or Acheron, as he can also increase the Ultimate DMG of his allies.

Trailblazers who have unlocked Penacony can now enjoy additional rewards with these hidden achievements in Honkai: Star Rail.

Reflecting his flexibility in teams, Jiaoqiu is also quite flexible in terms of his light cone options. He primarily benefits from Effect Hit Rate, making a wide variety of light cones viable for him. Depending on whether players want to build him as a full support for certain characters or enhance his DoT DMG, there are various options to consider in Honkai: Star Rail.

6 Solitary Healing

Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 40%. When the wearer unleashes their Ultimate, increases DoT dealt by the wearer by 48% for 2 turns. When the target suffering from the wearer's DoT is defeated, regenerates 6 Energy.

While Break Effect isn't a particularly useful stat for Jiaoqiu, the F2P light cone Solitary Healing can still be a viable option for him due to its DoT DMG buff and its ability to generate Energy each time an enemy with a DoT applied is defeated. In content such as Pure Fiction, players will find great value in this light cone, as it helps Jiaoqiu activate his Ultimate more frequently. However, in other content like the Memory of Chaos (MoC), the utility of Solitary Healing is significantly reduced, making it less impactful in those scenarios.

S5 Passive

Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40%. When the wearer attacks enemies that have reduced DEF, regenerates 8 Energy.

Another useful F2P light cone for Jiaoqiu is Before the Tutorial Mission Starts, particularly for players who need additional Effect Hit Rate to be able to apply debuffs more consistently. However, to fully benefit from its Energy Regeneration secondary passive effect, players should pair Jiaoqiu with a team member like Pela (or Silver Wolf for single-target situations). This is because Jiaoqiu's Ashen Roast debuff increases the damage enemies take but does not reduce their DEF, which is necessary to trigger the light cone's full potential.

4 Incessant Rain

S1 Passive

Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 24%. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy that currently has 3 or more debuffs, increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12%. After the wearer uses their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, there is a 100% base chance to implant Aether Code on a random hit target that does not yet have it. Targets with Aether Code receive 12% increased DMG for 1 turn.

Silver Wolf's signature light cone, Incessant Rain, is also a solid option for Jiaoqiu, particularly because it boosts his Effect Hit Rate, albeit to a lesser extent than some other premium light cone choices. While the increased Crit Rate passive isn't particularly useful for Jiaoqiu, the light cone’s ability to apply an additional debuff aligns well with his kit. This synergizes effectively with characters like Acheron, aiding in stacking debuffs for her Ultimate. In this regard, Incessant Rain is somewhat comparable to Jiaoqiu's own signature light cone, Those Many Springs, although it doesn't offer the same level of functionality or synergy.

3 Eyes of the Prey

S5 Passive

Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40% and increases DoT by 48%.

The Eyes of the Prey is an excellent hybrid option for players looking to boost Jiaoqiu's Effect Hit Rate while also enhancing his DoT damage. As one of the few 4-star options that cater to both these aspects, it offers a balanced and cost-effective way to optimize Jiaoqiu's build, especially if players can max it out to Superimposition 5. The main drawback of this light cone is its lack of additional debuffing effects or Energy Regeneration, which limits its utility compared to higher-tier options. However, it remains a strong choice for those prioritizing DoT-focused builds.

2 Reforged Remembrance

Honkai_ Star Rail – Jiaoqiu and Reforged Remembrance

HP

ATK

DEF

1058

463

S1 Passive

Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 40%. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy inflicted with Wind Shear, Burn, Shock or Bleed, they will individually gain 1 stack of Prophet. This effect can stack up to 4 times. In a single battle, each type of DoT can only generate 1 stack of Prophet. Every stack of Prophet increases the wearer’s ATK by 5% and the DoT they deal will ignore 7.2% of the target’s DEF.

Black Swan's light cone, Reforged Remembrance is also quite beneficial for Jiaoqiu, offering a substantial Effect Hit Rate bonus even at its base superimposition level. This light cone is particularly useful for boosting Jiaoqiu's own damage output, as it increases his ATK and allows the DoT from Ashen Roast to ignore DEF. This makes it an ideal choice for players focusing on a DoT-oriented team composition rather than a purely support-focused Jiaoqiu build. Its ability to enhance both his debuffing and damage-dealing capabilities makes it a versatile option in various team setups.

1 Those Many Springs

S1 Passive

Increases Effect Hit Rate by 60%. After the wearer uses Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate to attack, there is a 60% base chance to inflict "Unarmored". While in the Unarmored state, target receives 10% increased DMG for 2 turns. If the target is under a DoT inflicted by the wearer, there's a 60% chance to upgrade "Unarmored" the "Cornered" state, which increases the DMG the enemy target receives by 14%, lasting for 2 turns. During this, the wearer can't inflict "Unarmored" on the target.

Jiaoqiu's signature light cone, Those Many Springs, is unsurprisingly the best option for him due to its perfect synergy with his kit. It offers a substantial Effect Hit Rate boost and includes a passive ability that allows Jiaoqiu to apply an additional debuff on enemies, increasing the damage they take. This light cone is not only ideal for Jiaoqiu but also one of the best options for many Nihility characters who rely on inflicting debuffs to enhance the team's overall damage output. However, while it's a highly valuable light cone for Jiaoqiu and other debuff-oriented characters, it isn't essential for low spenders or free-to-play players to utilize Jiaoqiu effectively. Unlike characters like Boothill, who heavily rely on their signature light cone, Jiaoqiu can still perform well without it.
