Honkai: Star Rail is HoYoVerse’s newest open-world role-playing game, built on a turn-based combat system. Inspired by its sci-fi counterparts – Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3, the game has introduced an exciting feature known as “Relics” within its gameplay. Relic Sets are an important in-game system that greatly enhance the strength of characters and level up their skills during combat.
Players can equip their characters with Relics suited to their individual playstyles and objectives in Honkai: Star Rail. There are usually six types of Relics in each Set, consisting of head, body, hands, planar sphere, link rope, and feet pieces. All Relics have a Main Stat and up to 4 Subsidiary Stats, depending on their rarity. The rarities range from 1 to 5 stars, where the higher rarity sets can be upgraded further and provide more significant boosts.
How to Unlock Relics
To unlock Relics in Honkai: Star Rail, players first need to reach Trailblaze Level 14. Upon completing the Trailblaze Quest “Ones Fallen into The Abyss” located on Jarilo-VI, players will automatically gain access to Relics. All players will be able to obtain two sets of the Musketeer relics.
More powerful and advanced Relics are available after players reach Trailblaze Level 24 or higher. Players can farm Relics by completing the Cavern of Corrosion challenges. It costs 40 Trailblaze Power per challenge and is a highly effective and reliable method to unlock Cavern Relics. These provide bonus Sets of 2 or 4 pieces.
Once players reach World 3 in Honkai: Star Rail, the Simulated Universe grants them access to Planar Ornaments – a type of Relic that can scale up to 5-star rarity. Players can also obtain 4-star Relics by redeeming Special Currency Rewards. These can be earned by completing quests, opening chests, and exploring different Worlds.
Players can also earn Relics by Levelling up Trailblaze levels or by using the Omni-Synthesizer, which allows players to craft custom Relics.
How to Equip Relics
Once players have unlocked Relics, they can easily equip them using the following steps.
- Open the Character Menu.
- Click on the Relics tab.
- Enter the Relic equipping menu by tapping on the " + ".
- Select a Relic. Players can alternate between head, body, feet, and hands tabs.
- Click the Equip button in the bottom right of the screen.
Relics can be upgraded by clicking the Enhance button using Relic EXP Materials or by salvaging unused Relics to convert them into Relic EXP.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation 5 version launches in Q4 2023.
