- Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 is set to coincide with the game's second anniversary in April.
A new Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed more details about Castorice's rumored ability to revive other characters in combat. Castorice is scheduled to debut during Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 as a new Quantum Remembrance unit.
Players first met Castorice in-game in the 3.0 update when the Trailblazer reached Amphoreus. Castorice was revealed to be a Chrysos Heir with the power to take the lives of other beings by touching them. Developer HoYoverse has confirmed that Castorice will join the playable roster as a 5-star character, and she is expected to feature in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 first-half banners. Since she was teased quite early in Amphoreus trailers, Castorice is one of the most anticipated characters from this world. However, recent leaks about her kit have received mixed reactions from players.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases Major Change to Limited Banner
New leaks from Honkai: Star Rail are teasing a massive change coming to the game's limited gacha banner for its second anniversary.
In recent weeks, several Honkai: Star Rail leaks about Castorice's kit have suggested that she may be able to revive an ally once per battle. Per the reports, if players have added Castorice to their roster and one of their characters has been defeated in combat, Castorice will immediately bring them back to life and have them enter a "Lunar Cocoon" or "Moon Cocoon" state, even when she is not on-field. Prominent community leaker HomDGCat has reported that this passive talent also works in endgame modes like Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, Simulated Universe, and more. Now, HomDGCat has also shared that a special text panel will appear when Castorice revives a defeated teammate, reading "Castorice protected you. Quickly use heal or shielding abilities on Moon Cocoon targets." This suggests that while Castorice can reanimate team members, their HP isn't fully restored, so players must act quickly and heal their units before they are defeated again.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases Castorice's Revive Mechanic
During the latest updates, the Honkai: Star Rail community has voiced its frustration about newer characters being too overpowered compared to early-game units. For this reason, the rumors about Castorice's global revive passive haven't been well-received by some fans, since it could mean players who haven't obtained Castorice could be at an unfair disadvantage. HoYoverse has addressed the imbalance between recent and older characters, and it has assured fans that early Honkai: Star Rail units will gradually receive buffs. Whether these buffs will be enough to level with upcoming Amphoreus characters remains to be seen.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 is set to coincide with the game's second anniversary in April. Aside from the usual rewards like extra Stellar Jades, developers will reportedly hold a special Honkai: Star Rail giveaway related to the game's first official art book.
