The Nameless of Honkai: Star Rail, according to an entry in the game’s data bank, are “mysterious strangers who come and go in different worlds.” They explore the cosmos, witnessing major events on the planets they visit, often through the use of a spacecraft known as the Astral Express. Members of this group, also known as Trailblazers, sometimes find themselves helping planets and space stations with their difficult conflicts. The crew has seen its fair share of troubles, but they always seemed to pull through by the grace of Akivili, the Aeon of the Trailblaze. Not much is known about this god’s current status, yet their history holds the key to the Astral Express’ main goal in Honkai: Star Rail’ s story.
Many factions in the game follow the Path laid for them by an Aeon. In the Astral Express Crew’s case, they follow the Path of the Trailblaze, which was forged and maintained by Akivili. Aeons are god-like, interdimensional beings who seem to have limitless power over the universe. These gods embody a Path in Honkai: Star Rail, a mysterious concentration of powerful energy seemingly manifested by complete devotion to a specific philosophy. Aeons can also bestow special abilities upon those who truly embody their Path, which players have witnessed when Qlipoth and Xipe blessed the main character with the power of Preservation and Harmony respectively.

Akivili’s History Holds the Key to the Astral Express’ Main Destination
As higher beings, Honkai: Star Rail's Aeons are often focused on grand plans for their Path that stretch millions of years. Therefore, some see their followers as a means to an end or mere tools to use for whatever goal they want to achieve. Akivili seems different from the other Aeons in the fact that they try to level with their followers from time to time. Their physical manifestations were seen adventuring with The Nameless while they created star tracks that connected each planet they visited. Therefore, it was a devastating loss for the Astral Express Crew when the Aeon suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Honkai: Star Rail’s Data Bank indicates that Akivili’s destiny was cut short by a certain “accident.” Meanwhile, Himeko, the Astral Express’ current navigator, says that the Aeon might be deceased. Kafka also disclosed during the Xianzhou arc that Nous, the Aeon of the Path of Erudition, may know what truly happened to Akivili. When the Aeon seemingly died, the Astral Express eventually became inactive for some time until a young Himeko found it and repaired it to its former glory. Now, she leads a new generation of Astral Express crew members and carries on Akivili’s legacy by following the Path of the Trailblaze.
Despite being god-like beings, Aeons in Honkai: Star Rail can still die at the hands of another Aeon or their Path being overwhelmed by another one. The Path that the Aeon laid out will also survive without them if it hasn’t been assimilated by another Aeon.
How Akivili’s Home World Marks the Beginning and End of the Astral Express’ Journey
Akivili’s home planet is known as “Pegana.” There isn’t a lot of information about it at the moment, but it’s known to be the original departure location of the Astral Express. It is where Akivili first started laying down the star tracks, which eventually connected countless planets and helped explorers navigate and explore the cosmos safely.
Despite being one of the most important planets in Honkai: Star Rail’s lore, it’s unlikely that the players will see it anytime soon. This is because the Astral Express is following a fixed route that Akivili once traversed, with the final stop being Pegana. Whatever awaits The Nameless in Akivili’s home world is still a big mystery. However, it is interesting that the final journey of Akivili, and eventually the Astral Express after countless years of exploration, involves finally coming home to rest.
