The HoYoverse multiverse continues to grow with crossover characters coming to Honkai: Star Rail. The latest was Acheron, an alternate version of Honkai Impact 3rd's Raiden Mei and Genshin Impact's Raiden Shogun. Collectively, fans have dubbed this group of characters as the "Mei-verse."
Acheron debuted in Honkai: Star Rail's main story in Version 2.0 as the mysterious Galaxy Ranger who was invited to Penacony by The Family for the Charmony Festival. But Penacony has dark secrets that players have yet to uncover, and characters like Acheron may be hiding their real identities.

Regardless of whether it is playable, each Honkai: Star Rail Path has an interesting story behind it, as all of them are presided by powerful Aeons.
Is Acheron Really Who She Claims to Be?
The Trailblazers' adventure to Penacony has been nothing but colorful. The Dreamscape is a Europe-inspired city filled with festivities, where guests can spoil themselves with lavish goods and experiences until they need to wake up. But the journey takes a dark turn when the Trailblazer witnesses death and destruction within the once dreamlike world. Because of this, many characters become distrustful of other guests, including Acheron.
Toward the end of the current Honkai: Star Rail story quest, Aventurine and Black Swan reveal that Acheron may be lying about being a Galaxy Ranger. This revelation could change the course of the story because it's possible that Acheron is hiding her true identity to achieve her goal. It could simply just be a case of characters distrusting Acheron, but it's still interesting to see how the story will unfold once the truth comes out in future updates.
Acheron the Galaxy Ranger
Acheron is said to be a member of the Galaxy Rangers, a voluntarily formed faction in Honkai: Star Rail following the Path of The Hunt that travels the cosmos to uphold goodness and justice. It's believed that Acheron was the unnamed lone ranger who thwarted the experiments of Genius Society member Dr. Primitive, but there's still no confirmation of her doing this.
If Acheron's indeed a Galaxy Ranger, despite Aventurine's speculations, it's possible that she infiltrated Penacony to investigate the irregularities in the Dreamscape. The only mystery here would be whether The Family invited Acheron or she stole someone else's invitation to enter the world.
The Family is a faction following Xipe The Harmony, led by Sunday, who will be an upcoming boss enemy in Honkai: Star Rail.
The Possible Identity of Acheron
Aventurine and Black Swan claim that Acheron is an Emanator following the Path of an unknown Aeon. Emanators refer to people who got permission from an Aeon to draw from their power. In Honkai: Star Rail, there are many known Emanators, like Herta (Nous The Eridition), Black Swan (Fuli The Remembrance), and Phantylia the Undying (Nanook The Destruction).
There are 18 known Aeons in Honkai: Star Rail - all of whom have different purposes and intentions in the Honkai: Star Rail universe. If Acheron isn't following the Path of The Hunt as a Galaxy Ranger, she could be following the Path of Destruction, which has factions that want to destroy worlds. One of these factions is the Annihilation Gang, who Acheron allegedly murdered while the members were traveling to Penacony for the festival. One theory could be that Acheron is a rogue member of the villainous group, but only called herself a Galaxy Ranger to seem inconspicuous.
It's also possible that Acheron isn't her real name because when the Honkai: Star Rail version of Raiden Mei and Raiden Shogun was leaked last year, she was initially called "Yayi." Since it was an early version of Acheron's character, it's likely that HoYoverse changed her name during development. However, it's also quite strange that she didn't have Raiden in her name. Likewise, it could be that Acheron's Emanator name is either Raiden, Yayi, or a combination of both. The Penacony arc still has a lot of mysteries to reveal in the coming updates. Honkai: Star Rail fans will soon find out who Acheron really is, as well as who's killing and causing disarray within the Dreamscape.
