The following contains spoilers for Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.3's Trailblaze Mission.
A recent Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed a new map area for Version 3.4, likely related to Phainon's past. The character is one of the most anticipated units to join the playable roster in Honkai: Star Rail's next patch.
Honkai: Star Rail recently released its 3.3 update, which added the 5-Star characters Hyacine and Cipher. The former is a Wind Remembrance unit that also provides party-wide healing, while the latter is a Quantum Nihility character that pairs well with follow-up attack teams. The patch also brought a ton of lore regarding Honkai: Star Rail's Chrysos Heirs, and set the stage for Phainon's obtaining of the Worldbearing Coreflame. Phainon's playability has been confirmed for Version 3.4, but the update is also expected to give players in-depth details about his lore. Now, a new leak teases that players could visit Phainon's hometown.
Honkai: Star Rail - Predicting Phainon's Place in the Meta
The Phainon's kit in Honkai: Star Rail has been leaked ahead of launch, and it looks like he's set to be one of the most damaging units in the game.
A video shared by the prominent leaker Firefly has revealed a new Amphoreus map area coming in the 3.4 patch. The footage begins with Cyrene as an NPC at a small fishing port. The area features objects like chests, Space Anchors, and a Garmentmaker, which suggests it is an explorable zone that players could return to. As seen in the leaked video, the zone seems to be a small village filled with wheat fields and houses with very few NPCs in sight. This map is likely Phainon and Cyrene's hometown, Aedes Elysiae, as it fits the description given by the former character in previous missions. Interestingly enough, Phainon had revealed that Aedes Elysiae was destroyed by the Flame Reaver prior to the game's events. However, it seems Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 will find a way to bring it back.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals New Explorable Area Connected to Phainon and Cyrene
While the release of Aedes Elysiae might seem like a stretch to players, Honkai: Star Rail has already teased it in the current patch. At the very end of the Version 3.3 Trailblaze Mission, Cyrene made her first in-game appearance and briefly talked to Phainon. Earlier missions confirmed that the Flame Reaver had killed Cyrene, but now she is back somehow. It is worth mentioning that Honkai: Star Rail's Cyrene bears a striking resemblance to Honkai: Impact 3rd's Elysia, and she is expected to play a key role in Amphoreus' climax.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 will be an ambitious update. Aside from Phainon's long-awaited debut, Honkai: Star Rail is launching its Fate/Stay Night crossover with Saber and Archer becoming playable. Honkai: Star Rail players can also obtain Archer for free by simply logging in during the event.
