With the upcoming release of Amphoreus, Honkai: Star Rail has teased several characters and areas from the next main explorable world. The game's 3.0 update is expected to add new gameplay features as well. Earlier leaks suggested that Honkai: Star Rail would add 120 FPS settings for PC players in the next patch. The game currently limits graphics options to 30 and 60 FPS, so the potential of enjoying 120 FPS without using third-party tools was very exciting news for gamers. Unfortunately for PC players, it seems the rumor was a false alarm, according to a new leak.
Honkai: Star Rail Unveils Unusually Unique New Five-Star Character
Honkai: Star Rail reveals a new mysterious five-star Harmony Quantum user who is expected to join the roster after Version 3.0 ends.
Prominent Honkai: Star Rail leaker Kazusa Leaks has discredited the 120 FPS rumors by revealing that the leaked screenshot was manipulated. Per the new leak, the enhanced FPS option was achieved by modifying the game's files. This means that 120 FPS settings might not be arriving with Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0. It's not all bad news, though. According to the report, the update will bring DLSS support to the RPG, so PC players may still have some graphics improvements to look forward to after all.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Denies 120 FPS Settings Rumors
While the 120 FPS update rumors may have been false, Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 could still be the game's most exciting update yet. The patch will transport players to Amphoreus, where they will meet the Chrysos Heirs and embark on a new adventure. HoYoverse has confirmed the debut of two 5-Star characters as well: The Herta and Aglaea. The latter will be the first Remembrance unit to join the playable roster along with the Ice Trailblazer. Moreover, earlier leaks revealed that Version 3.0 would feature up to four limited 5-Star characters in each banner cycle, with popular characters like Robin and Lingsha potentially rerunning.
The special program for Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 is scheduled for January 1, 2025. During the livestream, developer HoYoverse will reveal more details about Amphoreus' plotline. Also known as The Eternal Land, Amphoreus' lore and ambiance are heavily inspired by ancient Greek mythology, so it will be interesting to see how the Honkai: Star Rail's Chrysos Heirs faction reflects this influence.
