Two of HoYoverse's biggest games are set to team up in the near future, with Honkai Impact 3rd officially announcing an upcoming crossover with Honkai: Star Rail. Since the studio was first founded as MiHoYo Studio in 2011, HoYoverse has gone on to achieve international fame with several of its games boasting tens of millions of downloads. The developer would achieve universal acclaim following the release of Genshin Impact in late 2020 and saw similar success with Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. Now, two of the developer's flagship games are set to cross over.
Honkai Impact 3rd has been one of HoYoverse's longest-running games, pre-dating the launch of Genshin Impact by four years with its 2016 China release. The developer has continued to push out consistent updates to Honkai Impact 3rd, even launching one of the game's biggest patches yet with the "Part 2" update in February. Honkai Impact 3rd has also previously featured a collaboration event with the developer's biggest game, seeing Genshin Impact's Fischl and Keqing made available in-game. HoYoverse is now looking to add another of its hit games to Honkai Impact 3rd.
Honkai Impact 3rd officially announced its newest crossover event on Saturday morning through the game's official social media. HoYoverse revealed that Honkai Impact 3rd will be featuring a collaboration with Honkai: Star Rail during the v7.9 update, with more information about the collaboration coming on September 19. The developer did not confirm any specific details about what will be featured as part of the Star Rail crossover, with a teaser showcasing Stelle battling with Kiana alongside characters like Welt and Jing Yuan. HoYoverse has not revealed when Honkai Impact 3rd's v7.9 will launch.

The upcoming crossover between Honkai games come as Honkai: Star Rail's in-game universe has already teased plenty of connections to Honkai Impact 3rd. Welt's appearance in Honkai: Star Rail was confirmed to be the same character previously seen throughout the main story of Honkai Impact 3rd. Honkai: Star Rail also features new versions of several characters prominently featured within Honkai Impact 3rd, including Seele, Bronya, and Himeko among plenty of others.
The collaboration with Honkai Impact 3rd isn't the only major crossover on the horizon for Honkai: Star Rail. HoYoverse officially announced a shocking new crossover event with Fate/Stay Night will be coming to Honkai: Star Rail in the near future. While details have been light on what the crossover will contain, the initial reveal trailer featured voice lines from Archer, potentially hinting at guest characters coming to Honkai: Star Rail with the event. HoYoverse looks to have plenty of exciting crossovers on the way between its many games.
