As spotted by Eurogamer, Twitter user Wario64 recently shared some images from SteamDB that show new updates made to Hollow Knight: Silksong, with one package being altered for the first time in 15 months. Additionally, Reddit user TomNook5058 confirmed that some version of Silksong has been officially uploaded to the Steam servers. While Team Cherry has yet to make any official statement, many fans now believe that Hollow Knight: Silksong's release date will be shared during Summer Game Fest, while others think it will be shadow dropped following the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Updated on Steam Ahead of Summer Game Fest and Switch 2 Release

It's unclear whether these Steam updates confirm any impending action or not, but changes having been made to the Metroidvania's files so close to one of gaming's largest presentations and the Switch 2's release is suspicious to many fans. While there is no official release date for players everywhere, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be playable in September at ACMI, Australia's national museum of screen culture. At least portions of the game will appear as part of the Game Worlds exhibition, which will showcase concept art and interactive displays from around 30 titles.

Fans can tune into Summer Game Fest on June 6 at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT to see some of the biggest games set to release over the next year and beyond, with featured titles including Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Chrono Odyssey, The Outer Worlds 2, and many more. Rumors also point to Resident Evil 9 potentially being revealed at the event.
