The original Hollow Knight was released in 2017, and it quickly became regarded as one of the best Metroidvania games ever made. The title sold over three million copies, and its success prompted its creators to work on its DLC. However, one DLC grew in scope and eventually became Hollow Knight Silksong, which was originally announced in February 2019. The game has not been released since then, however, leaving part of its fanbase anxious to finally be able to play the successor to the popular indie game.
