While exploring the world of Pharloom in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you’ll notice pretty quickly that staying alive is not easy. Enemies and bosses are everywhere, and all of them are out to take you down. Players will be jumping from fight to fight, and things can get tough fast. That’s why knowing how to heal is extremely important.

Healing in Hollow Knight: Silksong is not as obvious as in some other games, especially when you’re just starting out. This brief guide will walk you through how to heal your character so you can survive longer in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

How to Heal in Hollow Knight: Silksong

There are multiple ways to heal yourself in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Let’s take a look at them:

Using Bind

In Silksong, the primary way to heal is by using Bind. Every time you hit enemies, you collect a material, which fills up a thread gauge under your health. Once that is completely full, you can spend it all to heal.

Once you do that, Hornet will stop for a moment and restore three health masks. However, one important thing to keep in mind here is that the whole bar gets used up every time you heal, even if you only need one mask. Because of that, it would be better to wait until you are missing a good chunk of health before using it. And yes, you’re vulnerable while healing, so you have to pick the right moment to use the feature. Wait until you are safe for a second, then Bind and get your health back.

There’s a tool called the Warding Bell that can protect Hornet while she’s healing. The Bind animation takes a little time, so this bell can really save you from getting hit. Here is a full guide on how to find the Warding Bell if you want more details.

Players can also improve healing by using the Multibinder tool. It can be bought from Frey after you complete the My Missing Courier quest.

Resting on a Bench

The world of Pharloom has many resting benches where you can rest to heal Hornet. They are like workbenches. If you die, you’ll respawn at the last bench you rested on.

Some benches are free to use, but others need Rosaries to unlock. That’s why it’s a good idea to always keep a few Rosaries with you. Whenever you see a bench, make sure to rest there to save your progress and heal your character.
