Shellwood is a forest-themed area in Hollow Knight: Silksong, where Hornet will learn one of the most crucial abilities for her journey in Pharloom. Because of that, this area is not skippable. However, once they have explored the region, players may wonder what to do or where to go after Shellwood in Silksong. This article will provide information about what must be done to progress with the main quest.
How To Get Clawline Skill (Grappling Hook) In Silksong
The Clawline skill in Hollow Knight: Silksong is the ability required to hook into objects like hoops or enemies for better mobility.
Where To Go After Shellwood In Silksong - Hollow Knight: Silksong
After players have explored Shellwood and gotten the Cling Grip skill in Silksong, Hornet needs to continue her journey to the Citadel. For that, if you wish to progress, you should:
- Break the curse in Bellhart to get the Needolin skill in Silksong.
- After getting the Needolin skill, continue west to the Blasted Steps region.
Rite of the Pollip is a side quest in Shellwood that grants an item that applies venom to equipped tools. Read here to find all Pollip Heart locations in Silksong.
Players can reach Blasted Steps from Bone Bottom, but if you're currently in Shellwood, there's an easier path from there. First, get close to the bench that connects Shellwood and Bone Bottom. However, before reaching the bench, look up to see a passage. Use your new wall jump ability to head up and unlock the bench right next to the Shellwood Bellway.
Next, run left, passing through the large open room, until there's a way to go up. Head up, and you should find a bench to rest on.
From the bench, go left and up until Hornet reaches the tall vertical room to the right.
Once you reach the vertical area, run to the room on the right to find Shakra and obtain the Blasted Steps map. You know you're in the right place when you start seeing Shakra's signature rings on the ground.
After getting the Blasted Steps map, you must climb up the vertical area until you find Blasted Steps' Bellway. You can do this by going up from the room where you found Shakra, or exit the room and go up from there. Both will lead to the same place.
Rest up and unlock the fast travel point, then continue your journey to the east, where you'll eventually reach the Grand Gate.
Here, Hornet must use her Needolin to proceed; that's why it's mandatory to first unlock the ability. Additionally, a boss fight with the Last Judge in Silksong will also begin, further emphasizing the need to unlock the nearest bench to the Grand Gate.
