A Hollow Knight fan has recently made an incredible cosplay of Hornet, a character set to become protagonist of the second game in the popular Metroidvania series. Originally announced in 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong is one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent years due to many delays and high expectations for the sequel.
The original Hollow Knight was released in 2017, and its success greatly impacted the landscape of the Metroidvania genre. Combining Soulslike elements with a highly interconnected world, incredible atmosphere, and fast-paced gameplay, Hollow Knight was quickly hailed as one of the best Metroidvania games ever made. Fans were excited when the sequel was announced, but it’s been five years since then, and Hollow Knight: Silksong still does not have an official release date.
Now, a creative Hollow Knight fan called bnuii has showcased their lovely Hornet cosplay on social media. Bnuii shared seven photos of their Hornet cosplay, showing their recreation of the character in different poses in a beautiful forest. Bnuii’s work is very impressive, as the fan recreated Hornet’s clothes and sword with even more details than in the game, while still maintaining a very similar vibe to the original Hornet. The most interesting detail of the cosplay is the headpiece worn by the fan, as it greatly resembles Hornet’s head, and it probably took a lot of work to pull off perfectly.

Hornet was already a popular Hollow Knight character before the announcement of Silksong, but she became even more loved as the wait for the sequel continued. In the original Hollow Knight, Hornet appears as an adversary and cannot be controlled by the player.
Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to finally play as Hornet. Unfortunately, almost 2,000 days have passed since Hollow Knight: Silksong’s announcement and fans still don’t have a definitive release date.
