Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is known for its plot holes and inconsistencies with the main Harry Potter franchise. The latest update to the game seems to add yet another plot hole, and it has to do with the placement of the Leaky Cauldron pub in the new Diagon Alley area.

As pointed out by users on Reddit, the magical brick wall that separates Diagon Alley from the Muggle world should be between the Leaky Cauldron and the rest of the street. However, in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, the Leaky Cauldron is located inside of the brick wall, which clashes with what we already know about the area's layout.

This inconsistency may annoy hardcore Harry Potter fans, but compared to other plot holes in the game, it's really not that big of a deal. Some have noted that the layout of Diagon Alley in Hogwarts Mystery is actually similar to the layout of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida, which also has the Leaky Cauldron on the "wrong" side of the brick wall. And just like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction, it's likely that this inconsistency was done for the sake of convenience.

Inconsistencies with the source material are one thing, but Hogwarts Mystery is known to be inconsistent with itself. Perhaps the most infamous example is the case of Ben Copper, who at one point in Hogwarts Mystery's story, is supposed to be missing. Despite Ben's "disappearance," he still appears in classes and the like, which makes no sense considering much of the plot at that point revolves around finding him.

Plot holes of that magnitude have been far less common in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery than they were in game's early days, so it's improving in that regard. Hopefully Jam City will continue to avoid plot holes and inconsistencies as it continues to add more content to the popular mobile game.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
