Mandrakes are one of the most handy plants to find, buy, or grow. Fortunately, Mandrake is pretty straightforward to get hold of once players know how to find it.
Where To Get Mandrakes In Hogwarts Legacy
Players can get mandrakes in Hogwarts Legacy through several means, including buying fully-grown mandrake plants to use immediately, buying mandrake seeds to grow mandrake plants in pots, or collecting mandrake plants in the wild.
Where To Buy Mandrake And How Much Do Mandrake Cost?
In Hogwarts Legacy, players can buy Mandrake seeds or Mandrake plants from Madam Green in the Dogweed and Deathcap store in Hogsmeade, located on the map above. Fully grown mandrake plants cost 500 Gold Galleons each, or players can buy mandrake seeds for 800 Gold Galleons.
How To Grow And Get More Mandrake In Hogwarts Legacy
Buying mandrake seeds enables players to plant and grow mandrake plants in any sized pot in the Room of Requirement, including the small pot players first get in Herbology class. This strategy is handy until players get a Hogwarts Legacy potting table with large pots, and it takes 10 minutes to grow one batch of mandrake in a small pot once planted.
To get more Mandrakes, players can buy fertilizer from Dogweed and Deathcap or The Magic Neep for 300 Gold Galleons to increase the yield of mandrake plants. When players unlock Hogwarts Legacy's Room of Requirement, they can grow Mandrake in large quantities using multiple tables, such as those containing five small pots, enabling players to grow five Mandrake plants at a time.

Where To Find Mandrake In The Wild in Hogwarts Legacy
It can be rare to find Mandrake growing in the wild across the vast open-world map, as it's not as common as other collectible resources like Lacewing Flies. What are Mandrakes For In Hogwarts Legacy?
In Hogwarts Legacy, mandrake is mainly used as a weapon in combat, but it's also sometimes necessary for learning new spells in Hogwarts Legacy as part of the main story quests. For instance, for Professor Garlick's Assignment 1, acquiring and using mandrake plants is a prerequisite for getting the Wingardium Leviosa spell as a reward.
How To Use Mandrake In Combat Against Multiple Enemies
To use mandrakes in combat in Hogwarts Legacy, players should select a mandrake from the equipment wheel, then release it during combat to throw the shrieking plant against an enemy or group of enemies while facing them. Playing on an Xbox (or Switch) console means holding the LB button (or L1 if using a PlayStation controller or tab for PC) and selecting the mandrake using the right stick.
During combat, players should then tap LB (L1 or tab) to unleash the mandrake's scream to stun and damage multiple enemies during combat within a limited radius. In some cases, Mandrakes can also be used as an overpowered plant to cheese fights in Hogwarts Legacy, depending on players' gear traits.
Hogwarts Legacy is available on PS4, PS5, PC, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
