Hogwarts Legacy is days away from the official launch date, but a video comparing the locations from the game to those seen in the movies has already been posted online. A highly-anticipated title from Avalanche Software, the Digital Deluxe edition of Hogwarts Legacy gave customers a chance to play the game early. Thus, eager fans have already started to flood social media and video-sharing platforms with bits and pieces of the game they've found interesting.

Hogwarts Legacy is set in the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry in the 1890s. Long before the times of "The boy who lived," Hogwarts Legacy will follow the story of a fifth-year student at Hogwarts. Players will be able to attend the classes, go on journeys inside the school grounds and outside Hogwarts, and even delve into plots of dark wizards and a goblin uprising. Outside of spell casting and mastering potions, Hogwarts Legacy will allow players to craft and trade items, interact with magical beings such as Kneazles, and even utilize the fabled Room of Requirement as their base of operations.

The central location in the game is Hogwarts castle itself. While players will be able to venture into other magical places such as Gringotts Bank, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest, the majority of the game will take place in the castle and the grounds surrounding it. A YouTube video made by ElAnalistaDeBits showcases the differences between Hogwarts in the movies and Hogwarts in the game. Players will be able to instantly recognize places such as the Great Hall, the Defence Against The Dark Arts room, the Wooden Bridge, and the Quidditch Pitch. Keen-eyed observers will be able to notice the dragon skeleton hanging over the DADA classroom. Most notably, the Headmaster's Chamber is much simpler in the game because the current headmaster in Hogwarts Legacy isn't too keen on actually teaching as much as reveling in the glory of holding such a prestigious position.

The Herbology Room has been shown in great detail in Hogwarts Legacy, as well as the Potions Classroom and the Gryffindor Common Room. While certain interiors have remained mostly unchanged from movies, the exterior portions have seen a lot of change. Most notably, the Owlery in the movies is much less open to the elements, and the Entrance Courtyard is architecturally much simpler. The video shows parts of the exterior to be quite mossy, which is indicative of the changing seasons in the game. Hogsmeade is also featured in this video quite extensively, including the famous The Three Broomsticks pub.

The hype surrounding Hogwarts Legacy has been immense, and the developers have left no stone unturned while creating a magical world. While Hogwarts Legacy's journey hasn't been all smooth sailing, the early reviews from both critics and fans have been profoundly positive. Fans of the series will have to wait just a little while longer to walk through the halls of Hogwarts and embark on their own magical journey.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, and July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
