High On Life 2 will launch on February 13, 2026, Squanch Games has confirmed. The irreverent sci-fi shooter's predecessor was a major hit on Xbox Game Pass, so it came as no surprise that the sequel would also come to Microsoft's gaming subscription service. Now fans have gotten a closer look at High On Life 2, including a firm release date.
Squanch Games announced that High On Life was getting a sequel in June 2025 during the Xbox Games Showcase. That reveal also confirmed that High On Life 2, like the first game, would be a day-one Xbox Game Pass title, set to come out sometime in the coming winter. The initial trailer also revealed plenty of new action and talking guns players could look forward to, and now Squanch Games has offered some more insight into what to expect from the game.

High on Life 2 is Coming to Xbox Game Pass and Other Systems on February 13, 2026
During Gamescom 2025, Squanch Games revealed that High On Life 2 will arrive on Xbox Game Pass, as well as PC and PS5, in February of next year. The announcement comes not long after the first High On Life returned to Xbox Game Pass in July after leaving the platform in June 2024, so subscribers have a chance to relive the original before diving into the sequel early next year. Alongside the release date, the Gamescom preview revealed a few other details about High On Life 2, including the introduction of Ralph Ineson, who gamers may know from The Witch or The Fantastic Four: First Steps, to the cast of talking guns.
As the initial trailer showcased, players will get the chance to move around on a skateboard instead of the standard sprint option. Actors Betsy Sodaro, J.B. Smoove, and Richard Kind will be returning to voice the same weapons they did in the first title, and by the looks of the Gamescom demo, High On Life 2 takes its predecessor's combat and platforming to new heights. The game is seemingly sticking close to the spirit of the original, which makes sense, considering how High On Life was the biggest day-one Xbox Game Pass release of 2022 when it came out.
High On Life 2 wasn't the only big news for Xbox Game Pass users of Gamescom 2025. During the Opening Night Live pre-show, developer Lunar Software confirmed that its upcoming horror game ROUTINE will launch in Q4 2025 as a day-one Game Pass title. Gamers will have to wait for a specific release date, but it's looking like a good time to be an Xbox fan.
