As you explore the weird and wonderful fantasy land of Prismeria in High on Life 2, you’ll stumble upon an upcoming execution of bow-shaped Gatlian, Bowie. However, you first see the execution space behind an iron gate, but the power that the guard needs to open the gate for you is broken. To fix it and claim your next gun, here’s how to open the jammed gate in High on Life 2.

Above the broken gate is a blue amplifier that requires Sheath’s charged spike Trick Shot, the ability that helped you navigate PoolCon, RailCon, and HumanCon earlier in the game. That isn’t the tricky part, so you may have already spotted where you need to land your first spike: it’s the small building with a smoking chimney at the top, opposite the locked gate.

The tricky part is working out how the amplifiers line up in such a way as to ensure each one has a clear line of sight. The thing is, it’s going to require that you manipulate your environment to reveal one amplifier and move another.

Now, locate the ‘Cool S’ statue — the one you might have doodled on a notepad in school. This has two amplifiers, but one is on the wrong side. What you need to do is shoot the lower third section of the statue so it appears below the one on the top third. You’ll need to go around the statue so it’s between you and the jammed gate in High on Life 2; it won’t move when you shoot it. This allows you to link both amplifiers on the statue.

You’re also able to connect your next spike to the amplifier just to the right of the jammed gate. However, for the final amplifier, you need to navigate to the staircase to the right of the jammed gate. At the top is a pile of yellow rocks — shoot them to reveal the final amplifier.

If you enter the building to the left of the top of the staircase, you can claim the Brain Drain upgrade for Creature, which reduces his mind control ability cooldown. You’ll need to get past the house’s owner, turn left, and then left again through the door to complete a puzzle directing Creature’s minions past laser gates.

Once you’ve revealed the amplifier behind the rocks, you’re free to connect the third one by the gate to the newly-revealed one, and that to the jammed gate to open it. Hurry, though, you’ve got a Gatlian to rescue!
