The Assassin is a boss fight during the main mission “Kill Senator Muppy Doo” at the beginning of High on Life 2. The Assassin is a fast-moving heavy hitter that can overwhelm a lot of players, especially at higher difficulties.
This guide covers the best strategy for fighting the Assassin, all of his attacks, how to deal with them, as well as the best weapons to use for the fight. Only after defeating him will you be free to hunt down Senator Muppy Doo and complete the mission.
Where to Find Jeppy While Playing Hide and Seek in High on Life 2
Make sure you keep a close eye on your new relative in High on Life 2, because you might not get another chance.
How to Kill the Assassin in High on Life 2
The Assassin has two main methods of dealing damage to the player: a mid-range gun that fires in bursts of three and a sharp dagger that deals a lot of damage in melee range. Additionally, he is extremely mobile and has multiple ways of closing the distance.
Although the Assassin hits hard and fast, he is relatively fragile on his own and will go down quickly if you’re able to focus him down and deal consistent damage.
Assassin’s Attacks in High on Life 2
The Assassin has access to the following attacks.
|
Attack |
Description |
Screenshot |
|---|---|---|
|
Burst Shot |
The Assassin uses his gun to shoot a spread of three bullets from medium to long range, dealing damage. The bullets have a travel time, which means you can dash out of the way or outrun them by using your skateboard. |
|
|
Melee Attack |
The Assassin lunges across the room and uses his dagger in melee range to deal massive damage. This attack is quite fast, but it can be dodged if you are racing across the arena on the skateboard. Dodging via a dash can be done too, but the Assassin can follow up this attack with a dash to close the distance with you. |
|
|
Dash |
The Assassin dashes horizontally, leaving after-images behind him. This can be used both to close the distance with the player and to dodge attacks. |
|
|
Spike |
The Assassin throws an electrically charged spike at the player, shocking the player in place and dealing damage. This attack can be deflected by pressing the melee attack button (like Kreg’s chain throw). |
|
|
High Voltage |
The Assassin uses his spike to overload the arena’s electrical system, carpeting the entire arena in electrical charges. This attack can be dodged by using your skateboard to skate on the walls. Since the electric charges do not reach the walls, you’ll be safe. |

High on Life 2: How to Disable Hall H Security
Here’s how to disable Hall H security during the “Kill Senator Muppy Doo” main mission in High on Life 2.
Best Strategy to Defeat the Assassin in High on Life 2
The blue energy shield pillars in the arena can be used as cover to protect yourself from his gun. However, these pillars periodically disappear underground, which will leave you exposed. When this happens, the most reliable way of keeping yourself alive is to start skating as fast as possible along the walls of the arena.
All of the Assassin’s attacks have travel time, which means you can outrun them if you’re fast enough. When the energy pillars come back out from the floor, use them again as cover, and keep shooting at the Assassin from behind them until he goes down.
Best Weapons to Fight the Assassin in High on Life 2
If you’ve completed the mission to kill Larry Pinkstock, you’ll have acquired Travis, the gatlian weapon who shoots water projectiles that are effective at medium range. This is one of the best weapons to use against the Assassin, because it is quite fast and every hit deals a large chunk of damage.
Sweezy is also a reliable choice, mainly because you can use her Time Bubble to slow down time, giving you an opportunity to deal a lot of damage. Gus is only useful if you’re confident about getting within melee range of the Assassin and remaining alive. The Assassin is at his most dangerous in close quarters because of his melee attacks, so Gus’s usefulness is limited.
After you defeat the Assassin, a cutscene will play out where he will agree to join your cause as a weapon: Sheath. Next, you’ll be able to continue hunting the elusive Senator Muppy Doo and chase him down across the planet for a final boss fight.
