Former Xbox exclusive Hi-Fi Rush could be coming to Nintendo Switch if a recent leak is to be believed. This leak comes courtesy of PEGI, which has just published a new age rating for Hi-Fi Rush, one that includes a Nintendo Switch version.

Hi-Fi Rush originally shadow-dropped on Xbox Series X/S following the 2023 Xbox Developer Direct. In the weeks following its sudden launch, Hi-Fi Rush garnered almost universal acclaim from critics, with it still sitting at an 89 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic with 95% of critics recommending it. Hi-Fi Rush managed to draw in over three million players by August 2023, and in January of the following year, Xbox announced its bold plans to experiment with a new multi-platform strategy, using Hi-Fi Rush as one of its first guinea pigs.

Hi-Fi Rush received a PlayStation 5 port in March 2024, which itself received a very warm welcome from critics. But despite Hi-Fi Rush's incredibly strong critical success, Microsoft decided to shut down Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks just a few months later in May 2024. Tango was quickly snapped up by Krafton in August 2024, however, along with the IP rights to Hi-Fi Rush.

Hi-Fi Rush Could Be Coming to Nintendo Switch

hi-fi rush sequel positive update

On January 15, 2026, PEGI published a new listing for Hi-Fi Rush. Standing separately from the ZeniMax/Bethesda Softworks listing, this new PEGI rating lists Krafton as the publisher. No content description is provided in this new PEGI rating; only the list of associated platforms is shown, which includes Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Hi-Fi Rush does not currently have a Nintendo Switch port, nor has one been officially confirmed to be in development.

But before Hi-Fi Rush fans get too excited, it's important to note that this isn't the first time Hi-Fi Rush has been rated for Nintendo Switch. Back in April 2024, the ZeniMax/Bethesda PEGI listing for Hi-Fi Rush was updated to include a Nintendo Switch version. This port obviously never materialized, which does throw some doubt on this most recent PEGI rating leak.

This PEGI listing also coincides with pre-orders opening for Hi-Fi Rush's physical Xbox Series X/S and PS5 editions.

That said, this also wouldn't be the first former Xbox first-party exclusive to find its way onto Nintendo Switch. The first test subject of Xbox's multi-platform strategy, Pentiment came to PlayStation 4 and 5 and Nintendo Switch in February 2024. Just a few months later, in April 2024, Obsidian Entertainment's Grounded would join it on Nintendo's handheld hybrid.

While no other major first-party Xbox console exclusives have jumped over to Nintendo Switch since Pentiment and Grounded, there were plenty of rumors that surfaced during the Nintendo Switch 2's launch that suggested Microsoft could be getting ready to take a big swing at Nintendo's new console. Back in January 2025, Nate The Hate claimed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator would be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and both Windows Central's Jez Corden and The Verge's Tom Warren claimed they had heard similar things from their sources. That said, Hi-Fi Rush is technically no longer owned by Xbox, so the decision to port it to Nintendo Switch would likely be Krafton's.

Another important thing to note about this recent Hi-Fi Rush PEGI leak is that it only lists a version for the original Nintendo Switch, not one for the Nintendo Switch 2. Given that Hi-Fi Rush is not available on PS4 or Xbox One, it's unlikely that a Nintendo Switch version would be able to deliver an optimal experience. A Nintendo Switch 2 version, on the other hand, would be much more likely to meet expectations. It's possible that Hi-Fi Rush could come to Nintendo Switch and then receive a Switch 2 edition later down the line, though this often results in the creation of a separate PEGI listing.
