This shop is where you can buy new gear, upgrade your gear, and more to make sure you're ready for higher tier levels on your next run.

However, it's not immediately obvious how you can unlock the Blacksmith or what you need to do to build it. So, here's everything you need to know about finding the Blacksmith, how to build it, and what you need to upgrade the shop.

Where to Find The Blacksmith

Before you can build the Blacksmith in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2, you need to unlock access to the Guild Hall so you can unlock new buildings. This usually happens once you finish up the first quest in the game. Once you've done so, you need to find the Blacksmith in the Wilderness - which you can enter to gain access to the Forest levels where you find the Dark Citadel.

Finding the Blacksmith has an element of luck to it, but you should run into them in your first or second run. Make sure that you always step off the beaten path, because this will increase your chances. Once you find them, talk to them and send them back to town. When your run is finished, you'll find them standing near the Apothecary and waiting for you to build the Blacksmith - which is the next step to fully unlocking the building.

To build the Blacksmith, you'll need a total of 12 Wood and 5 Stone. Like other buildings, you can visit the Guild Hall to build it. Once that's done, you'll have access to an Armorer where you can upgrade your gear and a new shop where you can buy new gear. The Blacksmith will be placed just below where you usually get Potion Upgrades from the Apothecary.

How to Upgrade The Blacksmith

You need to make sure that your Guild Hall is upgraded before you can upgrade your Blacksmith. To upgrade the Guild Hall, you need wood and stone, which can usually be found in chests in the Forest. When that's done, you'll get access to new buildings and the Blacksmith upgrade.

From there, upgrading the Blacksmith is a simple matter of finding more wood and stone. As you unlock the different tiers, you'll have access to more upgrades and equipment, plus these upgrades will be cheaper overall. The best way to collect the resources you need for these upgrades is to constantly make sure you go off the beaten path. Resources are more likely found in chests and just lying on the floor in the further corners of the map.

To get access to the new upgrades from the Armorer, you'll need to start finding new resources like Iron and quite a bit of gold. This will let you upgrade your weapon damage, overall armor, weapon speed, and more to make it easier to get through the levels on your Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 run. You'll only start finding these new resources in later levels, so it's important to visit the Blacksmith often so you can get stronger.
