The Omens of Tyranny update for Helldivers 2 came with more than just the Illuminate, a new map type, and the game's first usable vehicle. Shortly after the update went live, the Urban Legends Warbond was also released, giving players even more content to play with.

Urban Legends is themed around fighting in city environments. Many of its offerings are designed around holding chokepoints, either through crowd control effects or overwhelming firepower. It may not have the coveted Fast Recon Vehicle as a stratagem in Helldivers 2, but it's still a decent Warbond. However, it's not exactly easy to recommend to new players. Here's why.

The Urban Legends Warbond is very similar to the Chemical Agents Warbond in Helldivers 2 — both offer mainly stratagems and secondary weapons. To keep things short, the Urban Legends Warbond is low on the priorities list. The things it has to offer are good, but they aren't necessarily important, especially to newcomers. Players can get a lot more value out of the other Warbonds that offer strong primary weapons, like Polar Patriots. With that said, here are brief overviews of the key, non-cosmetic items in the Urban Legends Warbond.

Street Scout and Roadblock Armor Sets

These two armor sets come with a new armor perk called Siege-Ready, which gives primary weapons +20% more ammo capacity and +30% faster reload speed. This perk is perfect for players who want an armor bonus that's universally useful, especially if they're fans of weapons like the Dominator, which has a very slow reload speed.

The Stun Lance

The CQC-19 Stun Lance is one of Helldivers 2's first melee weapons alongside the Stun Baton, which is available on rotation at the Super Store. This is essentially a taser on a long stick — every poke with the Stun Lance deals moderate damage while also stunning targets, similar to how the ARC-12 Blitzer works. It does its job well, but it's more of a "for fun" weapon. It can be used with one hand when holding a shield or objective.

Directional Shield

Speaking of shields, the Directional Shield Backpack gives players a one-way energy shield that's held in one hand. It works much like the Ballistic Shield — you can use your sidearm while holding it, but since it covers a wider area, it can also be used to protect teammates behind you while letting them shoot back at enemies. A good choice for support-oriented players, but keep in mind that explosions can knock you off your feet.

Flame Sentry

Yes, it's a flamethrower turret, and it comes with all the pros and cons that you would expect from one. It's great at holding areas against hordes of enemies (even heavily-armored ones, since fire penetrates heavy armor) but since its range is so short, it can easily be taken down by rampaging Chargers, Illuminate Harvesters, and literally any Automaton with a gun. However, it seems to have infinite ammo, so it could, in theory, outlast all other sentries in Helldivers 2.

Armed Resupply Pods

If the Flame Sentry is a little too much, then the Armed Resupply Pods Booster might be what you're looking for. It adds a Liberator turret on top of every Resupply Pod you call in during a mission, making them double as mini-sentries. Very useful for holding areas while doing objectives.

Anti-Tank Emplacement

Helldivers 2 Anti-Tank Emplacement

Arguably the best offensive tool in the Urban Legends Warbond. This is an anti-tank cannon turret that can destroy even the heaviest of units with ease. It can kill most heavy units in just 1–2 hits, with Factory Striders taking the most hits to kill at around 4-5 to the head. Every emplacement comes loaded with 30 shells, and it cannot be reloaded.

This is Democracy Emote

Literally kicking a teammate in Helldivers 2

You can kick your enemies (and friends) with it. It's not very practical, but it's nice to have an emote in Helldivers 2 that has you doing more than just striking a pose.
