Helldivers 2' s newly introduced Truth Enforcers Warbond provides some interesting content. Besides new equipment and skins, it also has some story elements that give players some insight into Super Earth and how it handles the spread of information. This can make one wonder whether Arrowhead Game Studios will use it to introduce something that the game was expected to have but has yet to be implemented for unknown reasons. If it does, then the Truth Enforcers could become known as one of Helldivers 2's best Warbonds for providing quality gameplay-related content while being the catalyst for a major event that's long overdue.
On October 31, the Truth Enforcers Warbond was implemented into Helldivers 2. The new addition centers around Super Earth's Ministry of Truth, and how it provides players with approved equipment that turns them into arbiters that protect and spread what they consider "facts." This shows how the higher-ups may be manipulating information to suit their purpose and possibly foreshadowing the return of the Illuminate. The faction was stated to have been eradicated in the previous war, but the Ministry of Truth may have hidden information stating that some may have survived. Should Arrowhead Game Studios go with this route to introduce the highly sophisticated enemy, then players should prepare for some interesting game-changing content in the future.
How the Story Behind the Truth Enforcers Warbond Can Lead to the Eventual Return of the Illuminate
Using the Truth Enforcers Warbond to learn about the Illuminate faction would be a great way to promote the return of the threat, but one of the biggest questions is how to do so. If Arrowhead Game Studios plans on using the Ministry of Truth to kickstart the event, then there are a few methods to go about it:
- Implementing a mission wherein players are required to eradicate valuable data concerning the Illuminate, which they'll only be able to access and read by wearing armor from the Truth Enforcers Warbond
- Providing a major order from the Ministry of Truth that requires Truth Enforcers to eradicate an unknown threat in the far reaches of the galaxy before it spreads, hiding its existence from the public
- Showing an incoming transmission that provides hints about the return of the Illuminate, but is heavily censored by Super Earth and the Ministry of Truth to hide their misinformation from the past
If there's one area the Illuminate faction has to get right, it's how it will handle the big reveal. The return of such a major enemy faction warrants a grand reintroduction, and the Truth Enforcers Warbond has the content to be set up for it.
How the Truth Enforcers Warbond Can Be Used to Set up Even More Content for the Future
The idea behind the Truth Enforces Warbond could mean that the Illuminate may not be the only faction heading into Helldivers 2. Since its concept is to turn players into officers to help protect and spread their version of the truth, there might be a setup that involves uncovering two threats instead of just one. If Arrowhead Game Studios doesn't go with that approach, it can choose to take a different direction that still involves the yet-to-be-introduced faction. The hints the game has provided regarding the Illuminate can even be turned into red herrings, using them as plot points to convey that the Ministry of Truth is hiding the existence of a much bigger threat. There is a lot of potential for creative content with the Warbond's focus on finding the truth, and it's up to the developer to fully utilize it.
The Truth Enforcers is a premium Warbond in Helldivers 2 that could drastically change things. If Arrowhead Game Studios uses the story behind it to introduce the Illuminate or make any other big reveals, then it's likely that the game is up for a lot of updates that will significantly improve the player experience.
