CEO Shams Jorjani chatted with fans on the official Helldivers Discord after the release of the latest Helldivers 2 update, revealing that Arrowhead has big plans for the future, including work on some ongoing “concepts” the team is exploring for a new project dubbed Game 6. This statement sparked concerns among fans, worried that Arrowhead might eventually stop supporting Helldivers 2. Far from stepping away, Jorjani doubled down on the studio’s commitment, stating that as long as players “keep playing and buying Super Credits,” the developer will “keep it going.”

Helldivers 2 Will Remain Arrowhead’s Top Priority for “a Loooong Time”

Jorjani admitted that last summer, Helldivers 2 was going through a rough patch, and Arrowhead feared it wouldn’t be able to sustain it. However, things turned around, and now the game is thriving again—something that has reignited its development, with the studio aiming to deliver plenty of exciting content in the future.

While Arrowhead has plans for Helldivers 2 and the popular co-op shooter remains the main focus, Jorjani also touched on the new approach the team will take with Game 6, starting with the fact that it will be 100% funded by Arrowhead. The studio hasn’t provided further details, but it wants to ensure it approaches development in a much “smarter way” than it did with Helldivers 2, particularly regarding development time (which took eight years). Nevertheless, players shouldn’t be worried about this for now, as Helldivers 2 still has a bright future ahead.
