If one decides to play Helldivers 2, that person must be ready to interact with many others in the same position of pursuing galactic freedom. Aside from fighting side by side during missions, there are other ways for players to show that they're fighting for the same cause. One of the best is using the emotes of Helldivers 2, especially interactive ones, as they allow everyone to share what atmosphere they bring as comrades while bringing a new form of engagement into the game. And while they do a good job of doing that, they have the potential to be so much more than they already are.

Using interactive emotes in Helldivers 2 can lead to a fun time for everyone, regardless of the situation. Whether it's the classic hug or the one that allows people to play rock-paper-scissors against one another, they can provide a form of entertainment that helps keep the game's community alive and together. However, while the ones available are enjoyable, there aren't exactly a lot of them. Arrowhead Game Studios has the opportunity to add more, and doing so can only lead to good things for Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 Character and Terrain
Helldivers 2 Has The Perfect Blueprint to Improve Terrain

Since its release, Helldivers 2 has seen many improvements, and perhaps it's time the developer gives the game's terrain aspect some attention.

Other Interactive Emotes That Can Be Added to Helldivers 2

Adding more interactives to Helldivers 2's emote wheel can mean a giant leap for camaraderie, but the question of what should be put in remains. There are many different possibilities, but there are a few ideas that Arrowhead Game Studios should consider, such as:

  • Emotes that involve the character models' feet, like stationary foot tag or a new one just for the game itself
  • Interactives that allow people to use their memory and their ability to react, such as Follow the Leader or Simon Says
  • Emotes that can result in physical harm to the characters, like Bloody Knuckles or Thumb War
  • More decision-based games, like the rock-paper-scissor Helldivers 2 emote, with good examples such as Hot Hands or Odds and Evens

The interactive emotes are an alternative way of having fun besides running through planets and shooting down enemies, and having more of them can only benefit Helldivers 2. Adding a good amount is something that the game's community will appreciate, and with the right execution, could be another factor that will get people into playing.

Why Adding More Interactive Emotes Benefits Both Arrowhead Game Studios and the Players

Giving people more interactive emotes to play with is a good way of keeping them interested in the game while allowing Arrowhead Game Studios to show appreciation towards its supporters. But doing so shouldn't all be in the name of altruism, as it provides the developer with a means of getting people to want to purchase the premium Warbonds of Helldivers 2. While locking such emotes behind a paywall can be seen as a predatory move, the game allows people to acquire the currency needed to purchase them by simply playing, making them attainable by anyone. This way, people have something to look forward to and work hard for, keeping Helldivers 2 and its community alive. Plus, the emotes could lead to some using real-world currency to acquire them, giving Arrowhead Game Studios more funds and allowing it to continue with the game's development for years to come.

Helldivers 2 is one of the best co-op games to play for a long time simply because there are many things to do in it. Interactive emotes are one of those things players can do, and they can bring entertainment that will allow for some fun times and perhaps even memorable experiences. Arrowhead Game Studios should strongly consider adding more, as doing so can help keep current fans interested in the game while bringing in new ones.
