Helldivers 2 has finally revealed its upcoming Halo 3: ODST crossover Warbond, bringing together two franchises that feel like a perfect match for one another. The trailer for Helldivers 2's upcoming Halo Warbond offers a look at some of the new content arriving in-game on August 26.

Ever since Helldivers 2 launched with a live-service focus, many players have obsessed over the possibility of crossovers for the game. It took a while, but Helldivers 2 launched its first crossover in late 2024 with PlayStation FPS franchise Killzone. However, fans have been desperate to see their favorite sci-fi franchises show up in Arrowhead Game Studios' chaotic shooter, but Halo always felt like a pipe dream given the game's lack of presence on Xbox Series X/S.

However, Helldivers 2's Xbox announcement as well as a recent tease offered hope that Halo would finally be coming to the game, and it has now been officially confirmed as a Halo 3: ODST Legendary Warbond, which can be unlocked for 1,500 Super Credits. The trailer shows off the classic Halo 3: ODST weapons arriving on August 26, including the Assault Rifle, the Silenced SMG, the Shotgun, and the Silenced Pistol, all in action on gloomy streets reminiscent of ODST's New Mombasa.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Halo 3: ODST crossover without the iconic armor to boot. Helldivers 2 players will soon be able to unlock two new armor sets: the standard ODST armor, and Recon. Both feature the "Feet First" passive, which allows Helldivers to make less noise while moving, become immune to leg injuries, and increases the range of discovering points of interest by 30%. There are also two new capes to unlock, ODST-themed player cards, a new player title, and a Halo-themed vehicle pattern called Mean Green.

The August 26 launch for the Halo 3: ODST Legendary Warbond comes right in line with Helldivers 2's Xbox Series X/S debut. The Sony-published game coming to Xbox is indicative of the end of an era, with platform boundaries coming down all the time. Players having access to more titles regardless of where they play is undoubtedly a good thing, and hopefully PlayStation users getting their first taste of Halo via this new Helldivers 2 Warbond is a sign of things to come.
