A new update to Helldivers 2 has given players more options when choosing which weapons to use during missions. Though a good amount of equipment has been buffed in Helldivers 2, those who have seen the bigger power boosts seem to be the ones related to flames.
Weapons such as the FLAM-66 Torcher from the Freedom's Flame Warbond and others with flame-related aspects have been given a damage increase and can now set things on fire quicker, making them more enjoyable to wield than ever before. However, it's because of how good these buffs are that the release of the new Warbond is curious as its focus shifts to an entirely different means of taking down enemies.

The Chemical Agents Warbond Has Come Too Soon to Helldivers 2
There was excitement for the new Chemical Agents Warbond and its new additions to gameplay will be interesting to see develop in the next few days. That said, it will come at the cost of overshadowing the recent fire damage trend:
- Having the Warbond released only 2 days after the recent flame-based weaponry boosts could take away any attention that the prior patch had, especially with the right execution
- The equipment of the new Warbond could potentially be the best way of taking down foes, making the fire damage boosts feel somewhat irrelevant
- The new Warbond could come with a gameplay patch that either boosts enemies to be more resistant to fire or the flame weapons deal less damage, leading to the prior update feeling pointless
How the New Warbond and the Flame Damage Buffs Can Work Together
If the buffs to fire in the massive September Helldivers 2 update are going to continue to stand out, Helldivers 2 can choose to have flame and gas work as one instead. One of the ways to do so is by making the Terminids or Automatons more susceptible to catching on fire when exposed to the toxic gas, dealing even more damage than if they were lit up regularly. This way, the game retains the fire damage trend while promoting the new Warbond.
It's up to individual players to decide if Chemical Agents is now one of the best Warbonds in Helldivers 2, but regardless it doesn't mean it should suddenly cast aside the very recent fire damage trend. Arrowhead could push more stratagems or weapons for its flame-encompassing meta, or at least have it work in tandem with the new gas-based weaponry to ensure gameplay retains its exciting and enjoyable state.
