In just a few days, Helldivers 2 will bring players a brand-new Warbond, and it's promising a fun variety of exciting features. Set to launch on July 17, the Control Group Warbond is adding fresh armor, weapons, stratagems, and more to Helldivers 2, but there is one standout item on the list.
The LIFT-182 Warp Pack is an intriguing addition to the Control Group Warbond lineup that promises players a game-changing way to dodge and traverse the map. This stratagem uses Dark Fluid to create a wormhole that players can use to teleport short distances. As exciting as this stratagem is, though, there is a huge downside that is incredibly on brand for Helldivers 2: potential death.
Helldivers 2 Xbox Recruits Should Keep These Unwritten Rules at the Top of Their Minds
As gamers join the fight for Super Earth when Helldivers 2 comes to Xbox, these unwritten rules are important to be mindful of.
Helldivers 2's LIFT-182 Warp Pack Can Only Be Used a Handful of Times
In the official announcement of the Warbond on PlayStation's blog, it states, "users should bear in mind that the wormhole cannot maintain integrity for extended periods–each jump will further destabilize it, and the wearer may experience death should the singularity fully collapse." That definitely throws a wrench in the stratagem's potential, but it also is a hilarious way to lean into Helldivers 2's special brand of humor. The Control Group Warbond is all about testing unstable alien tech, so the high risk of using such items comes with the territory.
Helldivers Will Be Gambling With Every Use
For those who are hoping to use the LIFT-182 Warp Pack as a way to dart across the map, they may want to think twice. Even just using the stratagem a few times in succession could prove to be catastrophic. For the most part, it seems like the LIFT-182 Warp Pack is better suited for quick, last-minute dodges when there's absolutely no other option. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios is always looking for ways to enhance the difficulty of Helldivers 2, and adding a teleportation pack that could kill a player after using it enough definitely adds a hilarious level of chance to the equation.
It was recently announced that Helldivers 2 will finally be coming to Xbox Series X/S on August 26.
Every Other Feature Included in the Control Group Warbond
- Conductor of Brilliance Player Banner and Cape
- Over Artifice Triumphant Player Banner and Cape
- Protect Eardrums Victory Pose
- Exemplary Subject Player Title

- G-31 Arc Throwable
In addition to the LIFT-182's significant downside, the VG-70 Variable can cause harm to players after offloading its remaining ammunition. Also, the A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry can explode if it overheats. Overall, the Control Group Warbond brings more chaos to the Helldivers 2 battlefield than anything, and it can either prove to be a lot of fun for players or incredibly frustrating.
The wearer may experience death should the singularity fully collapse.
As of now, there are no plans for Helldivers 2 to come to Game Pass.
The Control Group Warbond May Only Be Suited for a Specific Type of Player
For the Helldivers who love putting their lives in the hands of the Federation of Super Earth for the sake of research, Control Group may be a rewarding Warbond. However, for players who are more interested in practical stratagems, Control Group could prove to be more of a headache than anything.
Using many of the items included in Control Group requires a delicate balancing act that can be incredibly difficult to achieve when fighting off the Illuminate on the battlefield. It's a matter of taste, but for those who are in the mood for some serious risk, trying out the LIFT-182 Warp Pack could be the perfect stratagem to shake things up.
