Best Bug Builds in Helldivers 2
Below, we'll showcase some of our favorite weapons, builds, and loadouts to use against Terminids in Helldivers 2:
The Grenadier
|
Loadout |
Why It's Good |
|
|---|---|---|
|
Primary |
AR-2 Coyote |
The Coyote from the Dust Devils Warbond is an incredible Assault Rifle with great damage, ammo capacity, and rate of fire. Medium Armor Penetrating bullets and Incendiary bullets ensure bugs are killed within seconds. |
|
Secondary |
GP-20 Ultimatum |
The Ultimatum from the Servants of Freedom Warbond is essentially a nuclear bomb attached to a pistol. While the ammo is limited to 2 shots, it's all you need to instantly wipe out hordes and fire upon large tank enemies like Bile Titans and Chargers. |
|
Throwable |
G-123 Thermite |
The Thermite from the Democratic Detonation Warbond is a sticky grenade that will destroy Chargers if stuck, allowing you to throw it, so you can forget about the charging menace, so it can explode into chunks. |
|
Med-Kit |
The Med-Kit Armor Passive from armors like CM-09 Bonesnapper (Helldivers Mobilize) provides you with a total of 6 Stims instead of 4, and an extra 2-seconds of healing. This is great for Terminids, as most of their overwhelming numbers will deal immense damage where you're constantly in need of a Stim to heal. |
|
|
Hellpod Optimization |
With Hellpod Optimization, you will come out of your Hellpod with full ammo, grenades, and Stims. This ensures you will come stocked with a full loadout without the need for a resupply as soon as you exit your spawn. |
|
|
Stratagem 1 |
Grenade Launcher |
The Grenade Launcher is a great Support Weapon, as not only does it have heaps of ammo, but it's also been buffed to be Heavy Armor Penetrating. The Grenade Launcher is useful for wiping out hordes of enemies thanks to explosive splash damage, and for instantly destroying bug nests. |
|
Stratagem 2 |
Supply Pack |
With the Supply Pack on your back, you will have a near-endless supply of Stims and ammo for your weapons when it's time to reload. The Supply Pack avoids you using a Resupply, and by the time you've eaten through all 4 packs, you will be able to call another one, ensuring you don't need to die just to restock. |
|
Stratagem 3 |
Orbital Laser |
Sweeping over a designated area and targeting all enemies within the radius, the Orbital Laser will clean house with the enemies present to provide you with an ally from above. |
|
Stratagem 4 |
Eagle 500KG Bomb |
This Stratagem has a devastating impact with a large radius to ensure overwhelming bug breaches are culled easily, and that points of interest are scorched before you make contact with the enemy. |
The Grenadier loadout is designed around explosive synergy. With this build, you will be able to easily wipe out bug nests, incoming waves of bug breaches, and heavy enemies. The weaponry, including the Stratagems, is designed in a way that you will always have explosives at the ready to ensure no swarm or Anti-Tank enemy can take you down.
The Speedrunner
|
Loadout |
Why It's Good |
|
|---|---|---|
|
Primary |
CB-9 Exploding Crossbow |
This weapon, from the Democratic Detonation Warbond, is One-Handed and Explosive, meaning you can run around and fire it while on the move, and its explosive blast is capable of destroying bug nests and large groups with ease. A generous ammo count ensures you're sweeping through the objective with ease. |
|
Secondary |
LAS-58 Talon |
As a Secondary, the LAS-58 Talon from the Borderline Justice Warbond will ensure you need no ammo restocks, as it's a Heat weapon that can cool down instead of being forced to reload. It also benefits from being Medium Armor Penetrating, meaning it can take out pesky larger enemies with its great stopping power. |
|
Throwable |
G-123 Thermite |
The Thermite from the Democratic Detonation Warbond is a great backup explosive for when the Crossbow isn't doing the trick, for this sticky grenade can stick to Chargers and Bile Titans to make short work of them. |
|
Armor Passive |
Extra Padding |
While a tad basic, Extra Padding from armors like the B-01 Tactical is great for ensuring you can tank a few extra strikes from Terminids. After all, you're using this loadout to get in and out, so less time injured means less time wasted on Stims, Resupplies, and death. |
|
Booster |
Stamina Enhancement |
Invest in the Helldivers Mobilize Warbond for this Booster, which ensures that you have increased stamina capacity and recovery. This will allow you to move across the terrain far quicker without having to take a light jog to recover your speed and slow down your mission timer. |
|
Stratagem 1 |
LIFT-850 Jump Pack |
Your back equipment should be the Jump Pack, as it will allow you to jump higher, forward, or backwards, to both avoid enemies and get to your destination quicker to take care of business. |
|
Stratagem 2 |
LAS-99 Quasar Cannon |
With speed as the aim of the game, your Support Weapon should be the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon. One shot from this Heat weapon will wipe out Bile Titans and Chargers, meaning you won't have to go out of your way to kill the biggest threat you face. |
|
Stratagem 3 |
Eagle 500KG Bomb |
With a rapid cooldown rate and a large area of detonation, the 500kg Bomb becomes an obliterator to ensure small nests and swarming enemies are annihilated to allow you to continue making progress. |
|
Stratagem 4 |
Orbital Railcannon Strike |
For when you're too busy to pay attention to Bile Titans, the Orbital Railcannon Strike can be used to deal with them. It will fire at the largest target, and if it doesn't kill them, then it will weaken them enough for a Thermite to finish the job. |
The Speedrunner build is all about ensuring a fast completion time so that you can get in and out while ensuring you've cleared the battlefield of main objectives, sub objectives, and the destruction of all bug nests. With the Crossbow, you can easily explode all nests, and the Jumpack ensures you're in and out of trouble in a flash. In case you come against larger Terminids, the Quasar Cannon will make short work of them.
The Pyromaniac
|
Loadout |
Why It's Good |
|
|---|---|---|
|
Primary |
SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary |
From the Steeled Veterans Warbond, players can get a rapid-fire Incendiary shotgun that will burn bugs fast, with great ammo capacity to ensure that if the lethal impact doesn't do the job, then the fires left behind will. |
|
Secondary |
GP-20 Ultimatum |
The Servants of Freedom Warbond gives the Ultimatum, which is basically a Hellbomb in the barrel of a pistol. It packs a wild punch and can be used as a desperate Anti-Tank weapon for when the Breaker Incendiary isn't doing the job. |
|
Throwable |
G-12 High Explosive |
Any grenade can work with this build, but the default is great for just clearing out nests since you're not going to have much equipment to do it alone. |
|
Armor Passive |
Inflammable |
Since you're running a high-risk loadout where you might set yourself on fire, it's a good idea to bring an armor where you can get a 75% resistance to flame damage. Luckily, the Superstore and Freedom's Flame Warbond have these. |
|
Booster |
Vitality Enhancement |
Not only does Vitality Enhancement give you a straight-up damage reduction modifier, but it also slows the effects of burning to ensure you can Stim through the pain. |
|
Stratagem 1 |
LIFT-860 Hover Pack |
The Borderline Justice Warbond provides the Hover Pack, which is basically a jetpack, but you can actually control the height and fly around for 6 seconds. This height advantage is great for using fire and explosives from above, or getting up-close and personal with Bile Titans. |
|
Stratagem 2 |
FLAM-40 Flamethrower |
With this build relying on incendiary damage, was there ever any doubt that the Flamethrower would be the Support Weapon of choice? Close and medium range alike, igniting enemies (and teammates) is a blast that's as fun as it is effective. |
|
Stratagem 3 |
Orbital Napalm Barrage |
Unleash hellfire onto the battlefield with a Napalm Barrage, ensuring bug patrols and bug breaches aren't going to be able to move an inch without turning into BBQ. |
|
Stratagem 4 |
MD-8 Gas Mines |
Gas Mines are more underrated than you think, as they deploy a gas when stepped on that will slow and blind enemies, allowing you to scorch them without them charging at you while they're on fire. |
Terminids hate managed democracy, but they hate fire just as much. The Pyromaniac is a fun build we've designed to indulge the arsonists out there who love to spread freedom through flame, as it'll be a blast burning through endless hordes of bugs for a BBQ. The Breaker Incendiary is a fast-firing shotgun with great ammo, and the fact that it burns along with your Stratagems ensures a smoky time for all.
The Spray & Pray
|
Loadout |
Why It's Good |
|
|---|---|---|
|
Primary |
AR-23 Liberator |
It's a weapon everyone has access to, and it's actually pretty good. Since this build is mainly for your Support Weapon, a Warbond isn't essential to engage in the fun when this AR does the trick in shooting things dead. |
|
Secondary |
P-2 Peacemaker |
Another weapon without the need for a Warbond, the P-2 Peacemaker hits pretty hard against squishy enemies, but should only be used when you really have nothing else to turn to in your loadout. |
|
Throwable |
G-12 High Explosive |
This default grenade ensures that you can destroy bug nests without worrying about what someone else has in their arsenal and Warbonds. |
|
Armor Passive |
Peak Physique |
This build is relying on the Support Weapon for its heavy lifting, so Peak Physique from armors like the PH-56 Jaguar in the Superstore will be great for providing less drag on weapon movement, ensuring you're moving from left to right faster. |
|
Booster |
Hellpod Space Optimization |
It's vital to come stocked out of the Hellpod with full ammo, grenades, and Stims, especially if this build is reliant on killing everything in sight. Except your teammates, of course. |
|
Stratagem 1 |
M-105 Stalwart |
This Support Weapon is easy to handle, faster to reload, has plenty of ammo, and absolutely rips through bugs. It's a great Stratagem for ensuring bug breaches never overwhelm you. |
|
Stratagem 2 |
A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry |
This agile machine gun turret will fire at targets with expert precision, speed, and damage, ensuring you have a portable buddy that can help you lay waste to the battlefield. |
|
Stratagem 3 |
AX/AR-23 Guard Dog |
This Backpack Stratagem provides you with a flying drone that has a Liberator AR to provide you with cover on all fronts. With your Stalwart and MG Sentry, that's 3 machine guns on the go at once. |
|
Stratagem 4 |
Eagle 500KG Bomb |
Sometimes, even this build can get overwhelmed. As such, we take the 500kg bomb, as it's great to just deploy and let the battlefield go boom to clear out enemy waves and take care of Bile Titans. |
Since Terminids love to spawn in endless droves, it's fitting to have a weapon with endless bullets to match. The Spray & Pray build does just that: provides you with a near-endless supply of bullets in a machine gun where you can just pull the trigger and hope to fill Terminids with lead. This build is all about suppressing fire to help your team by ensuring you get the most kills on the battlefield.
