Where to Find Winter Mandarin Duck in Heartopia

Before you can even begin searching for the Winter Mandarin Duck, you’ll need to have the Birdwatching Hobby unlocked and upgraded to Level 2. Unlike other Winter Birds that spawn freely across the map, the Winter Mandarin Duck is tied specifically to an event phase.

Interact with the Birdwatching device set up by Bailey J to start the Winter Birdwatching Event. In this event, you can find and spot all the Winter Birds in Heartopia.

The Winter Mandarin Duck does not appear immediately. You need to wait until the event transitions into Extra Phase Photography. This phase introduces rarer birds around the Suburban lake, like the Winter Mandarin Duck.

Once this phase begins, explore the lake slowly. The duck usually spawns in the water, so keep your camera ready to capture this adorable duck. The easiest way to spot the Winter Mandarin Duck is by its blue winter cap.

How to Capture the Winter Mandarin Duck in Heartopia

Finding the Winter Mandarin Duck is one thing; getting a high-star scan is another. Let the duck change positions in the water. Scanning mid-movement or from a better angle increases your star ratings.

Rushing a scan and capturing the Winter Mandarin Duck in its idle pose results in a lower star rating. Thankfully, you’re not limited to a single attempt.
