Heartopia has officially revealed a collaboration with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which is due to arrive just in time for Valentine's Day. The cozy life sim has attracted a lot of attention since its launch just over a month ago, and now the special event combining Heartopia with the My Little Pony franchise is likely to bring in a whole new group of players.

Initially launched on January 7 for mobile devices, Heartopia had the jump to Steam on January 16, where it has attracted an all-time peak count of more than 64,000 concurrent players. Developed and published by XD, the team behind the free-to-play cozy game describes it as a "multiplayer slow-life simulation," letting Heartopia fans play with friends in a relaxed setting that gives them opportunities for activities like fishing, gardening, cooking, bug catching, bird watching, and running through obstacle courses. Though it's only enjoying mixed ratings on Steam, that could be due to its newness, as a lot of players feel it currently works better as a mobile game that still has a lot of room for optimization on PC.

Heartopia's My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Crossover Starts February 14

Fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, an animated show that saw its original run from 2010 to 2019, can soon participate in special events in Heartopia centered around the show. A new announcement from the game's creators, which includes a fresh trailer, shows that the Tree of Harmony will be landing on Whale Island after being magically transported there through a mysterious portal. The ponies will be counting on members of Heartopia's D.G. Guild to master the elements of Harmony, using honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity, loyalty, and magic to restore the iconic tree to its rightful place in Equestria.

Not all the details of the crossover event have been released yet, but a pre-event update has already been put in place ahead of Tree of Harmony's arrival. In addition to the Tree of Harmony Awakening quest line, the team at XD has some other special events in Heartopia planned for the crossover, including the Little Pony Badge Collection. Also confirming some previously leaked rumors about the crossover event, the trailer has shown off special cars themed after the Mane Six, which will likely be incorporated as top prizes for gacha pulls. Cars themed around Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash are expected, and while it hasn't been officially confirmed by XD, a seventh Harmony Car is rumored to be a prize for completionists who have collected the other six.

In addition, players should be able to pick up a bunch of different accessories that allow them to dress up in costumes themed after the Mane Six. Along with showing off multiple clothing options for players' avatars, the trailer also showcases a special Heartopia pet costume based on Spike, Twilight's precocious baby dragon companion and assistant. Heartopia's official website has not been updated with any of the crossover information, so diligent players looking to stay informed may want to keep a close eye on it in the days leading up to February 14.

Even before its launch, the crossover event seems to be proving quite popular with Heartopia's player base. It seems the cross-section of the game's and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic's fan base is a tight one, and responses to the trailer have already seen a bunch of players singling out their new favorite costume and vehicle options in Heartopia. A healthy number of commenters also seem eager for additional collaborations to hit the game, with Sanrio being a top choice among fans.
