Ice Skating is available to all players at the start of the Winter Frost Season event. Players will get a call from Atara the next time they log in to Heartopia. Accept the call to be teleported to the Ice Rink on the beach behind the Onsen Mountains, and step onto the rink to be given the option to start Ice Skating.

While all players will be able to ice skate, the Ice Skating Challenges will be locked until you reach D.G Level 16, as the challenges require the Dream app.

After stepping on the ice rink, players will receive a notification asking if they want to start ice skating. Press the blue check mark to start the hobby.

On the ice, moving around will have your character naturally skate around. Pay close attention to the buttons on the right side of the screen. These will allow players to perform tricks while skating around. The buttons will change as you interact with them, but players will start with access to the following actions:

  • Kicking your foot out and spinning.
  • Performing a spinning leap.
  • Getting low to the ground.
  • Twirling while making arm movements.

Completing Ice Skating Challenges will help you earn more dream progress in your Ice Skating Dream. This will both upgrade the moves you already have and give you access to new ones.

Performing multiple moves in a row will build up Combo Energy, which allows players to perform more intricate moves. The best way to fill this bar quickly and make a great performance is to chain your moves. While performing a move, a glow will begin forming around your character. Initiate a new move as soon as that glow turns gold to build up extra Combo Energy and give off a wonderful performance.

The combo move will change every time you start a new move, just like regular moves.

How to Complete Ice Skating Challenges in Heartopia

You can start Ice Skating Challenges once you reach D.G. Level 16. To begin, enter the Ice Rink and press the Ice Skating Challenge button in the top right corner of your screen. This will provide you with a short tutorial before showing a page that shows the time limit, the score you need to reach, and how many attempts you have remaining. Press Start to enter the challenge

While in a challenge, players will get bonuses from perfect transitions, which is acquired by starting a new move while a golden glow surrounds their character. Additionally, bonus points are achieved by performing moves that haven't been used in the performance. The challenge will end once the score requirement has been met or the timer has ended.

You only have access to two new Ice Skating Challenge attempts every day. If you miss a day, the attempts you did not make will be saved for the next day. At most, players can have 10 chances stored up. Luckily, failed attempts won't cost any chances, so you can keep going until you succeed.

How to Change Your Ice Skates in Heartopia

While you cannot set a complete outfit for ice skating, you are able to change your skates! Open your smartwatch and select the Dress-Up app. In the app, look on the upper left side of the screen to see a sparkling closet icon. Click this icon or press tab to open a subsection of your closet containing your pajamas and your Ice Skating Set.

Press the ice skating set tab to view all of your available ice skates. Select the ones you want to equip them, then press the save Ice Skating Set outfit button in the lower right corner to save the skate selection. You will be wearing them the next time you enter the ice rink.

How to Ice Skate With Friends in Heartopia

Ice Skating is a fun hobby to do with friends in Heartopia. Skating together requires players to hold hands before stepping onto the rink. While holding hands, one player activating the Ice Skating hobby will start it for both. They will also perform the same actions at the same time, including Combo Actions.

The player who initiates holding hands will be in charge of ice skating. They will lead their friends around the ice rink and choose which moves the pair does.

If both friends have unlocked challenge mode, they can perform together in challenges as well.
