Tilapia becomes available once you reach Fishing Level 3, which most players can achieve fairly early with regular fishing. Around this point, you’ll already understand the basics of casting, reeling, and managing line tension, which makes Tilapia an easy and stress-free catch.

Here are the exact spawn conditions for Tilapia:

  • Location: Rivers
  • Time of Day: All Day
  • Weather Conditions: Sunny, Rainy, Rainbow
  • Level Required: Level 3

Tilapia is extremely flexible compared to rarer fish. It can be found in river areas throughout Heartopia, including spots near the Fishing Village and nearby riverbanks. Since it spawns during all weather conditions and at any time of day, you don’t need to wait for specific events or return at odd hours.

As long as you’re fishing in a river, you have a good chance of finding it. Another advantage is that Tilapia respawns daily. Each time you log in, it’s worth taking a quick walk along the river or nearby lake. Doing so can easily net you multiple catches in a short amount of time.

Catching Tilapia follows the standard fishing mechanics in Heartopia and is beginner-friendly once you reach the required level. Head to a river and look for fish silhouettes in the shallow water.

Then, cast your line slightly ahead of the fish so it notices the lure. Tilapia has a relatively high bite rate of around 20%, meaning you won’t be waiting long for a tug. Once it bites, begin reeling in gently.

Upgrading your fishing hobby can make catching Tilapia even faster. It’ll let you reel in fish more smoothly and handle larger catches later on.
