While that makes sense as JK Rowling's books are about his journey, Lord Voldemort's return impacts everyone, not just Harry. While the boy who lived is the only one who can ultimately stop the Dark Lord, that doesn't mean the entire story should be told through his experience. This is something that HBO absolutely must change because doing the same thing for a television show that's going to run for as long as Harry Potter will be a risk. If every single episode is focused on Harry and what he's doing, people will end up becoming sick of him as a character, as it will be overkill.

This is where HBO should copy Game of Thrones and how that series told the story through multiple perspectives. Of course, that's how the books are written, but it worked perfectly in a television format. Fans had lots of different storylines taking place at the same time, which kept things fresh. It will open up the entire magical world, showcasing different locations and friendships in that environment and immersing people even more.

The supporting cast of Harry Potter will instantly feel more important if fans can see specific moments of the story through them rather than just via Harry. This will develop all of them in greater detail, strengthening the entire show. It will mean that the deaths of specific characters will hit harder, and the triumphs will be equally sweeter. Audiences can invest in the show as a whole rather than just focusing on what's going on with Harry, which is a story that people are already very familiar with.
