Death's Office is where all runs in Have a Nice Death begin, and it is also where players go back to when their run either succeeds or fails. In game, this area is referred to as the CEO's Office. In this area, players can see a record of all of their attempts along with having the option to unlock new weapons and spells that can show up during future attempts.
Since players will be spending lots of time in this location, it makes sense that they would have the ability to (to some extent) decorate and customize the area. Here is how Have a Nice Death players can customize the CEO's Office.
How to Customize the CEO's Office
In the CEO's Office, there is a door that leads to another room. On one side, Have a Nice Death players can practice with weapons and decide what works best for them. On the other side of this small room is an area where one of Death's employees, Muriel, can usually be found. Upon talking to her, players will see a menu that shows a bunch of random decorations. Some can only be unlocked once players beat the game.
Others can be unlocked at anytime regardless of whether players have successfully beaten the game. That said, these decorations will require a great deal of Ingots to unlock all of them. The cost will vary, but each decoration will vary from 50 to 200 Ingots. The vast majority of decorations currently available seem to be themed around Halloween and Christmas.
With Have a Nice Death now officially available and out of Early Access, players can also completely decorate Death's Office to make it look like the beach vacation that he so desperately wants. As mentioned above, these decorations can only be purchased once players have completed the game.
There are six decoration slots in total. The slots are Background, Entrance, Back, Front, Ambiance, and Music. Each slot can only have one decoration applied at a time. There is also a set of decorations that can only be applied to the break room once Have a Nice Death players have completed the associated holiday quest. For example, applying several Halloween decorations will trigger the start of the Halloween quest on the next attempt that players make.
How to Get Ingots
Since Ingots are used to purchase decorations for Death's Office, players will want to get more of them. Ingots are earned from completing runs through this beautifully hand-drawn roguelike game, regardless of if players succeed or fail. The better players do and the further they get in the run, the more Ingots they get. Alternatively, Ingots can be found at random while exploring departments or killing larger minions.
Have a Nice Death is available now on Nintendo Switch and Steam.
