The developer of Stardew Valley and the upcoming Haunted Chocolatier has shared a new image from the latter, giving fans a new glimpse into the art style and atmosphere of the game. Developer ConcernedApe has also shared a detail regarding a popular - but controversial - Stardew Valley mini-game that will return in Haunted Chocolatier.
Haunted Chocolatier was announced back in 2021, but so far, the creator has only said that he hopes to release Haunted Chocolatier no later than 2030. The developer has been working on the game, but has also regularly returned to release new updates for Stardew Valley, adding content and fixing bugs. That's led to less time being spent on Haunted Chocolatier, but over the years, ConcernedApe has been gradually teasing more information about the upcoming game, and has now done so again.
Stardew Valley Creator Confirms Exciting Detail About Haunted Chocolatier
After revealing that fans won’t be able to play Haunted Chocolatier until at least 2030, ConcernedApe teases the game’s size.
ConcernedApe Shares New Haunted Chocolatier Screenshot
Over on Twitter, the developer of Haunted Chocolatier uploaded a new screenshot from the game, showing just how much his artistic style has evolved since Stardew Valley. While there are visual similarities between the two, Haunted Chocolatier's art appears to be more detailed, with more texture on objects like the ground and trees, and the style of the character sprites has changed since the developer's first game. The screenshot shows a character looking at a flowing river sandwiched between two woodsy areas, which include a massive treehouse, complete with windows, an archway, and mushrooms climbing the sides.
While the screenshot is exciting in its own right, ConcernedApe also responded to a fan who wondered if fishing would make a return in the game. The developer simply stated that there will be fishing in the game, but didn't say anything further. This has left fans to speculate, as while some players greatly enjoy the fishing system in Stardew Valley, others despise it, especially in the early days when it can be quite difficult. ConcernedApe added a training rod to the game to make fishing easier in Stardew Valley in the early stages, and has likely taken the criticism into consideration when building Haunted Chocolatier.
For now, fans will just have to keep waiting for updates on Haunted Chocolatier as the years roll on. Each small snippet released by the developer keeps the fans interested, and in the meantime, Stardew Valley still has a thriving community and modding scene that keeps players actively playing it.
