Animals require some care and attention if players want to keep them happy and reap their benefits. First and foremost, they must be fed regularly, so this guide has everything players need to know to feed their animals in Harvest Moon:The Winds of Anthos.
Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos - How to Fish
There are plenty of fish for players to catch in Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, and here is how to do it.
How to Feed Animals in Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos
There are two kinds of animals in Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos: pets and barn animals. Pets are social companions that players keep inside their houses and benefit from. The type of pet they can have depends on the size of their home. Barn animals stay inside the barn next to the farmhouse, and players can harvest products such as milk, eggs, and wool from them.
Wild animals and barn animals can be tamed and taken back to live on farms. Common animals can also be purchased in town, although your first hen will be gifted. Pets and barn animals both need to be fed daily. Luckily, getting them food is quite simple.
How to Feed Barn Animals
Players can use animal feed, fodder, grass, or weeds for their barn animals to eat. Animal feed and grass seeds can be bought from the animal handler in Lectenbury. Weeds are the easiest to get and most cost-efficient since farmers can harvest them by cutting down grass. Fodder can be made from corn. Corn seeds can be picked up off Harvest Wisps floating throughout the overworld and grown on a garden plot.
The farmhouse barn has rows of animal feed bins and an auto-feeder at the back. Players can use the auto-feeder to refill the bins, make feed from fodder, weeds, and grass, or store animal feed. Barn animals that are fed will drop regular products.
How to Feed House Pets
Pets include dogs, rabbits, cats, birds, and ferrets. Players can purchase them from the store or befriend them in the wild. Once an animal is tamed, they can take it to live in their home. The number of house pets players can have depends on their house size and ranges from one to three to five.
House Pets eat Animal Feed. Pets can be fed by hand or using a Food Dish. The Food Dish can be made at the farmhouse workbench using three Silver Ore. If players remember to feed their pets and interact with them daily, they will earn abilities like stamina or heart restoration once they reach full friendship.
