As part of the #HarryPotterAtHome initiative, Harry Potter actor Tom Felton has been sorted into a new, surprising house for his Wizarding Passport. Sharing the image online, Felton reveals that he was sorted into Hufflepuff, and captions the image with "A sad day... On so many levels."
For those unfamiliar with who played who in Harry Potter, Felton played Malfoy, one of the main antagonists and Harry's major rival throughout the franchise. Malfoy is undoubtedly Slytherin, seemingly representing all of their worst qualities, but lacking most of their decent ones.
This came as a shock to Felton, especially given the bad rap that the Hufflepuff House tends to get. In an effort to comfort him, the Wizarding World's Instagram account responded, reassuring Felton that Hufflepuffs are just and loyal, and that Malfoy's actor would fit right in among the best of them.
Fans of the Harry Potter movie were no doubt surprised as well, but it makes sense. Actors are often very different from the characters they portray in films and television, and it seems unlikely that anyone could be as cartoonishly mean-spirited as Malfoy was in the films. For now, it seems that Felton will be joining the ranks of Hufflepuff.
Harry Potter is available now.
