343 Industries continues to improve upon the foundations of Halo Infinite with regular updates, and Season 3: Echoes Within is making battle pass and shop changes based on fan feedback. Because of the criticism the Halo Infinite multiplayer faced on launch and shortly after, 343 Industries is making changes that some players have been asking for, including the aforementioned battle pass and shop tweaks.
Each Halo Infinite seasonal battle pass brings tons of new cosmetics to the FPS game, and that's no different with the regularly rotating shop, but the upcoming changes may streamline the experience a bit better. When Halo Infinite was released in 2021, it introduced a new type of battle pass that gamers hadn't seen before which allows players to continually progress through the Season 1 offerings even in Season 3. Though this was met with wide praise across the Halo Infinite fan base, some players had criticisms for the 100-tier track that have been heard by the developers.
The Halo Infinite Season 3: Echoes Within battle pass will differ from past ones in offering a fourth challenge slot, and perpetual bonus XP as long as it's active during the season. The two new ways to earn experience and progress through the battle pass are seemingly changes that have been implemented due to other seasons feeling like a slog for some Halo Infinite players. On top of these Season 3 battle pass features, Halo Infinite players will automatically unlock the Redsteel Splinter armor coatings and 1,000 credits upon purchasing it, with a premium one offering even more.
The Halo Infinite shop is one of the in-game features that's received some criticism, and Season 3 will be ensuring that the menu layout will at least remain consistent throughout the season. Beyond that, 343 Industries has also confirmed that there will be more items shown off across the season compared to prior ones, and it will have a half-week slot that refreshes on Tuesdays and Fridays, while the daily rotation remains in other slots. Better value bundles than Season 1 and 2 will also be offered in Season 3, with 343 Industries introducing a new one called "super bundles" which may be ideal for new players looking to customize their Halo Infinite Spartans.
Because slow experience gains and limited in-game shop selections have been concerns of Halo Infinite fans in the past, Season 3: Echoes Within may draw in some of the lapsed players. Season 3 is also bringing with it new Halo Infinite maps, game modes, the bandit rifle, and more which may breathe more life into the game for fans that are tired of repetitive maps and modes.
Halo Infinite is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
