Summary

  • Halo Infinite is releasing Operation: Brute Force on January 7 with new multiplayer playlists.
  • 343 Industries enhances Halo Infinite with updates, including new features like third-person mode.

Fans of Halo Infinite are in for a great January 7, with Halo Studios confirming that a brand-new Operation will launch on this date. Operation: Brute Force will arrive in Halo Infinite on January 7, rounding out the game's Winter Update.

The evolution of Halo Infinite over the years has been extremely impressive. Upon launch, Halo Infinite was missing series staple features such as Forge Mode, which led to a mixed reception to the game from fans. However, 343 Industries (now Halo Studios) remained committed to Halo Infinite, constantly adding to the game with new updates that would make it arguably one of the best Halo titles on the market. In late 2024, Halo Infinite even added a third-person mode, showing that the franchise still has a few new tricks up its sleeve.

In a new post on Steam, Halo Studios confirmed that Operation: Brute Force is launching for Halo Infinite's multiplayer on January 7. The post was extremely light on details, although it did confirm that Operation: Brute Force will come with two new multiplayer playlists as well as a free 20-tier Operation Pass to "round out the Winter Update." This Operation is set to run from January 7 until February 4, with new customization options available as part of the Operation Pass. It did include some screenshots of some of the upcoming cosmetics, and frankly, they're awesome.

Halo Infinite Operation: Brute Force Launches January 7

January 7 will also mark the end of Halo Infinite's Operation: Snowbound, the holiday-themed update that saw the release of several new festive maps and modes. Halo Infinite typically has a pretty large winter update, and 2024 was no different, but it's great to see that the fun is set to continue immediately when Operation: Brute Force launches. As mentioned, with the blog post confirming the Operation being light on details, hopefully, more will be revealed about the event between now and the release.

Looking beyond, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Halo franchise. 343 Industries changed its name to Halo Studios last year, marking a new era for the developer as it looks to write a new chapter in the series' story. That said, it hasn't confirmed the specifics of any new project in development, and Halo Infinite doesn't look like it's wrapping up any time soon. It could be a long time yet before a new Halo title is released, but hopefully, Halo Studios will be able to talk more about that at some point this year.
