Halo Infinite is officially coming out in just under a month and a lot of new footage has been released in the lead up to its launch. As all other Microsoft Published games, Halo Infinite will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day 1 for both PC and consoles.
Halo Infinite was originally supposed to release last year as a launch title for Xbox Series X/S. After getting a mixed reception to the initial reveal trailer, with the visuals being the main complaint, Microsoft had ultimately decided to delay the game to 2021. Even though it has an official release date of December 8, rumors suggest that the multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite could be available from the coming Monday.
This rumor comes from tweets from two Halo Infinite leakers. User @halodotapi had earlier posted a picture with the words “Heroes of Reach - November 15, 2021 #HaloInfinite” alongside the official artwork Microsoft uses for promoting Halo Infinite multiplayer. They later promised to give $100 USD away to a random follower if this information turned out to be incorrect. Halodotapi also replied to a tweet from the official Xbox account, mentioning that Halo Infinite is indeed coming next week.
Another leaker, with the handle @Surasia4, has also teased that the multiplayer component could be coming out this month. They hint at this through replies to another user, who mentions being glad that Halo Infinite isn’t releasing in November.
November 15, 2021 is the 20-year-anniversary of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, so it makes sense for Microsoft to have something special prepared in order to commemorate its release. Given that Halo Infinite is scheduled to release early next month, it is likely that the multiplayer component is pretty much ready to be in players' hands.
Microsoft is also hosting a special broadcast that celebrates 20 years of Xbox on November 15 itself. If Halo Infinite multiplayer were to be released on the same day, Microsoft may use this news to end the show and allow players to get on the game immediately afterwards.
A tech preview for Halo Infinite took place last month and most fans reported that they had a smooth experience, especially when compared to the problems faced by users during the Battlefield 2042 beta. 343 Industries had an extra year to work on Halo Infinite, and it seems like the delay will be worth it in the end.
Halo Infinite releases on December 8, 2021, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
