How to Play Hades 2 Early

Almost a year and a half after being announced at The Game Awards 2022 presentation, Supergiant Games has announced that its upcoming roguelike dungeon-crawler, Hades 2, is ready to begin its technical test ahead of its eventual Early Access PC launch. Those who sign up for the technical test will (if they're lucky) be able to check out some early content to help the development team discover technical issues and other bugs, helping shape the future 1.0 release.

To get a chance at playing Hades 2 early, you will need to have a Steam account and then head over to the store page for Supergiant's upcoming roguelike.

Scroll down the page and click on the Request Access button. Once you do that, you'll just need to wait around for an email from the development team. However, as we mentioned before, not everyone who signs up will be able to join the playtest. Only a small number of players will gain access. As more technical problems are found and fixed, the team will bring more players into the fold. So, if you don't get an email the day of, don't fret --there's still a chance to play.

How Long is the Hades 2 Technical Test?

In the Hades 2 technical test blog post, the devs state that they actually don't know how long it will last. It can be as short as one or two weeks and as long as a month or so. It all depends on how much time Supergiant needs.

What's in the Hades 2 Technical Test?

Hades 2 fans that are lucky enough to enter the test will be able to explore the first major area, and will get to meet some characters, check out some early gameplay systems, and a little more neat stuff.

The PC requirements for the Hades 2 tech test are as follows:

OS - Windows 10 64-bit

Processor - Dual Core 2.4 Ghz

Memory - 4GB RAM

Graphics - 2GB VRAM / DirectX 12+ support
