As you travel through the Underworld in Hades 2, you'll collect many different items. Some are needed to unlock new features or abilities, while others can serve as currency. Among the latter is one very valuable one, called Obol Point.
As in the first game of the series, Charon remains the same trading-loving boatman in Hades 2. As such, you will often visit him to spend the earned Gold, with the added bonus of being able to spend other forms of currency with him. Therefore, this guide will provide insight on how to get Obol Points and what they can be used for in Hades 2.
Hades 2: How Long to Beat
With the release of the complete 1.0 version of the game, the time it takes to beat Hades 2 is significantly longer than the first game.
How to Get Obol Points in Hades 2
Obol Points are different from other resources that Melinoe will find, as you will have to spend a significant amount of money before you can acquire any. Thankfully, purchasing other goods from Charon will contribute to your progress in getting them. To get one Obol Point in Hades 2, you must spend a total of 1,000 Gold in Charon's store.
To do this, you just need to buy various goods from the boatman. Fortunately, the counter doesn't reset, even if you die at the hands of any of the game's bosses, so you can quickly reach the desired amount in a few runs. Once this target is reached, players can interact with the boatman to get an Obol Point, which looks like the Loyalty Card from the game's predecessor.
For convenience, players can use Arcana Card XVII, The Boatman. It will allow you to start the night immediately with 200 coins in your pocket.
Hades 2: Hecate Boss Guide
Hecate is far from the most difficult fight Hades 2 has, but she's not exactly a pushover. Here are some tips to help you get past her.
How to Use Obol Points in Hades 2
When you obtain Obol Point for the first time in Hades 2, you will need to visit the pier near the Wretched Broker upon returning to Crossroads. There, you will find a special Charon's Stash through which you can order various resources in large quantities in exchange for Obol Points. Here are several options for possible goods:
| Goods | Cost | Delivery Time |
|---|---|---|
| Ash x20 | 1 Obol Point | 20 rooms |
| Psyche x80 | 2 Obol Points | 40 rooms |
| Fate Fabric x10 | 3 Obol Points | 60 rooms |
As you can see, each of the items has a different delivery time, meaning you won't receive the goods straight away after you've spent your Obol Points on a selected resource in Hades 2. Instead, you need to clear as many rooms as indicated at the delivery time. Only after this, will you be able to pick up the ordered items from the Stash. However, this is still a great way to get plenty of resources at once, especially rare ones like Fate Fabric.
